Title: Which Brake Pads?
Post by: Vantage600 on June 17, 2004, 04:24:35 PM
I\'ve recently bought a Gen 3 R2 and I\'m not too excited about the brakes.  They fade very quickly with any spirited fast road driving.  Any suggestions for good alternative pads? Pagid, Endless, etc.???

depends kinda what yer after, out & out stopping power without caring about dustiness, squeaking & being a bit poo from cold or just a healthy stopper with less of the above?

Endless are supposed to be good but dont know anyone who could easily get you sorted with them.

EBC are rubbish, dont use them.  Performance Friction were good at stopping, but really corrosive and loads of dirt from them.  Also squealing at low speeds.  Just got some Black Diamonds on now - only been there about a week but they seem ok so far.  Havnt worked them however.

ShyAuto (link at top of the page).

Black Diamond
Pads Front £41.77 inc
Pads Rear £44.65 inc

Im not sure what they are gonna be like on track untill Ive done it, but so far they seem ok for the road use.

I\'m not too worried about cold performance.  But would rather not not have them creating cloads of dust and screeching....I have a contact at Endless, so will probably give them a try - I\'ll let you know how they are.
