it is a series 2 but they weren\'t made after 1983... they swapped to the series 3 on an \'A\' reg

Well Mat, you are a lucky guy with timing.

There\'s been very little interest in these lovely cars for yonks then along you come with what looks like a nice car just when interest has picked up.

I\'ve nothing logged on this car but, as Ian says, 1986 suggests import from somewhere- no problem with that. (Although mine did sit in a showroom for nearly 8 years; just as you suggest this one might have done).

If mileage is 55,074 and if body has been looked after then this could be a nice machine. As always though ....rear sills and tie rod reinforcements must be good.

Hope it gets into the 1st Gen Forum ownership.

Afterthought.....Car would have been a \'D\' prefix if unregistered for a few years ....therefore most likely it has come in from somewhere else. As said, nothing wrong with that....the car has likely avoided our salt for a while that\'s all.

Nice pics Ian, not for the faint hearted. They must use more salt on German roads than here.

they\'re the original sills painted with gloss black paint, same as the scuttle panel in front of the windscreen.

Hi bud !

How did the drive to london go ?
Title: 1983 rx7
Post by: Rivalrx on July 04, 2011, 06:38:55 PM
Sorry mate, forgot to txt ya. Topped up the oil and went for it. It made it back to London no worries but the clutch slave (I think) started not to work 2 miles out from the shed in traffic...It got home and now is in the shed. The headlights now go up and donw easily and the windshield wipers work well too.

Just need to tinker on the clutch and she is all good. I expected something to happen on the drive back so no worries there.

I\'m a happy camper! Can you let me know when the log book/old V5\'s come back as I would like them to keep with the car. I\'ve got a better exhaust lined up for it.

Cheers
