Title: japanese head unit
Post by: msc125 on June 16, 2004, 10:49:13 AM
hi,

i\'ve got a japenese head unit in my fd. it is a pioneer \'carrozzeria\' fh-p5000md. it has front-loading cd and md, and was already in the car when i purchased it.

the cd and md work fine, but the radio only has a limited fm range. is there a switch that can change the range? can i get it converted?

you have to but a radio band expander that plugs into the head unit.

cheers davehg, found one on mx5parts.co.uk for £17.50. i\'ll ring them to make sure it\'ll work on my fd.

do you know where i can get hold of a manual in english? will save me time figuring out all the functions

yeah tried that, came up with loads of japanese language sites. one of the results was a post on realcaraudio.com forum with the same problem as me, so i\'ve emailed them to see if they\'ve got hold of one yet.

pioneer weren\'t much help, the guy i spoke to said they probably aren\'t available in english

he didn\'t seem too sure so i\'ll ring again to speak to someone else who might be able to help further
