I like this guys comment;

\'\'Jason Pontillas; lemme get this straight. an outsider shows up to a locals-only race, kicks ass, takes names and wins...only to get banned from future appearances. and then, on the anniversary of said ass-kicking, the locals STILL won\'t let it compete? WOW - BITTER MUCH?\'\' :rollin

Theres no blue tack or cable ties holding that all together as they re build it.
I can only imagine how much the rebuild cost let alone running it again at Le mans. Lets hope that after all that money has been spent the car is used again for "public display"
Also the track has changed over the last 20 years but I bet if the driver was let off the leash, the "unofficial" time would still by todays standard be pretty damn good

And had a better look at the port design, but I would think that they be extra sprecially special housings made specifcly for the job at hand.

Yes indeedy. I saw a pic of the somewhere. I wonder if you could do that with a drill and helicoil kit.lol
It looks to be a tame beast at low revs getting out of pit lane but then I expect the gates of hell open under acceleration.

mmmmmmmmmmm, eurosport coverage of the race on now and they just mentioned that Mazda are having a meeting with the ACO to discuss their future participation  in the race.

Here\'s hoping it\'s to negotiate a rotary :)

Jim Loftis owned the 757 chassis # 104 and was racing it in the GroupC championship.

Had great time with him at Le Mans in 2008 ... http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150098531042653.274203.554942652

He did say back then he was thinking of retiring from racing and putting it up for sale. But never heard any more.

Got lots of detailed pics and vids of Jim\'s car if anyone is studying/collating the cars histories.
