Title: 1999 FD3S Type RB-S
Post by: <--rYaN--> on June 02, 2011, 04:56:29 PM
Hello Everyone,

I am regrettably selling my lovely genuine 1999 Rx7 type RB-S.

Car was originally imported by T W Whites and I was told when i purchased this was only 1 of 25 originally imported by Mazda.

Car is in amazing condition and hasn\'t had any problems, mechanical or otherwise. I owned a 1995 Red FD3S before this and the difference in quality is outstanding, i had nothing but trouble with the Red one, but since owning this the only thing i have had to have was a new cat-back exhaust fitted by Pip @ WGT, and that is in 6 years of ownership.

Car is normally serviced at WGT but hasn\'t had one for 2 years due to me only doing about 1000 miles a year in it, this is purely a weekend car and realistically these days i probably only take it out once every 3 weeks for half an hour to keep charged and in working order. Mileage is 54420. Car still pulls like new and is smooth across the entire range.

Brakes are fantastic.

Has all the usual extra\'s, twin airbags etc.

This car has never been modified in any way, so no extra stress on the engine.

There is a tiny bump from a stone hitting one of the front wings but is almost impossible to get a photo off it\'s that small, and the centre of the alloys, the plasticy Mazda badge has discolored with age, which can be easily painted if you are so inclined.

I have seen many a genuine 1999 Rx7 go for well over 10k, so i am going to advertise this for the price of £9750.

You can either contact me here, on 07889 734126 or 01925 712783. If I don\'t answer leave a message as I work crazy hours so will get back to you a.s.a.p.

I am in no rush to sell, but come December i will have moved into a new house, so please, no time wasters, joy riders, kids, the usual!

I\'ve treated this car with nothing but love and respect and would ask others to do the same.

absolutely stunning matey. You will have no trouble getting rid!!

I always thought Mazda stopped officially importing them after 95, and that the 99 - 2002 were japan only models?

Did they do a limited import run sometime?

Graeme, The cars that T W Whites sold were imported by themselves, purchased brand new in Japan and shipped here SVA\'d, registered and then sold. I also have one and T W Whites sold it as second hand coming with a used car warranty.  Mine had less than 100 miles on the clock. Technically second hand, effectively brand new.

Hi Guys,

Some interior shots as request. The flash made the steering wheel scratches look a lot worse than they are!

sorry for thread hijack but on your car when you are on full boost where does you boost gauge needle sit? mine in term of performace seems to boost ok but the needle is only 3/4 of way up not sure if it should be all the way to the top or not and not manyy 99spec owners around to compare with.

Back off holiday now guys if anyone is still interested :)

Declaring this off the road for now as I\'m driving my other car for the time being so it doesn\'t make sense to keep taxing this.

Thanks

shame this is at the wrong time, exactly what im looking for for my first rex, unfortunalty havnt the budget for that at the moment, as ive got an ST 205 WRC sat in the garage that needs to go first, nobody unfortunatly seems to be buying cars that burn holes in your pocket!

It\'s a lovely looking car, I\'ve been watching it a while now.

Compared to the Type RS I assume the Type RB-S

Has slightly less power output? 265HP vs 280HP?
Different suspension shocks and springs a bit softer?
Smaller Diameter brakes compared with RS/RZ specs?
RS has slightly different wheel design? A bit nicer IMHO.

Any other differences that you are aware of?

For me it\'s priced a bit high, because if I was to bring the car to Ireland I would need to pay VRT (which is another 1,500 euro on top of current asking price). Also Euro is weak right now so not good when converting to pounds.

Otherwise I\'d definitely be more interested. However I really am trying to source a good car locally.

Can you tell me if this car is classified as a Japanese Import from an insurance perspective or is it classified as a UK sold vehicle?

Hi Gav,

I think that\'s pretty much all the differences i\'m aware of. It\'s classed as UK sold vehicle

Now on eBay for £8k:

Hi all,

This is back on the market for a quick sale, price £5900

Car is not taxed but has just had an MOT at WGT

While there I had a compression test done (at last!)

The results were as follows:

Front: 6.85 6.50 6.70 @238rpm
Rear: 6.35 6.15 6.70 @238rpm

Thanks for looking :)

If I had the £6k lying around I\'d be up in a flash for this :)

Agreed tempted myself the compression worries me a little.

If it does sell hope it gets kept original or at least be able to return it to original if they mod it..
