Title: Type R suspension too hard
Post by: B9 KLF on June 15, 2004, 12:00:16 AM
I have bought a 3rd gen type R but I think the ride is too hard. Currently new adjustable Konis have been fitted with the existing hard springs but I find the ride harsh. Anybody tried standard springs with Konis?

In short NO. But i do have some Type-R2 springs in my garage that are meant to be softer than the R1  ones. And i\'d be willing to swap them for your standard front struts if you still have them lying around after fitting the Konis:)

Hi Wav thanks for the reply

I thought the R11 was also a Type R but without the back seat and lighter - the springs would be about the same then?

There is a an ID label inside the drivers door on my car but since it is mostly in Japanese, I don\'t know the what type of springs I have - although on other cars I have looked at the label clearly said Hard or Bilstien.

Anyhow I have not got the old struts so I can\'t swop. But I would be interested in any other veiws since I am well pleased with the car but I think the ride could be softer since I don\'t drive near the limit all the time and if I need to stiffen things up then I can turn up the Konis
