Title: decat pipe
Post by: wolfie1 on May 24, 2011, 08:45:20 PM
ok so i have been told my 94 fd is suffering with boost cut so am buying an apexi ecu for it and have decided to also fit a decat pipe at the same time, so my questions are- are the decat pipes really noisy would i be better off with a silenced 1, (i have an apexi back box on at the moment) and there is a pipe that comes off the cat that goes back towards the engine, i am presuming its an egr system? what happens with that pipe when getting rid of the cat?
thanks

That pipe will be from the air pump - its part of the emissions and also helps stop the cat imploding from the heat from a rotary lol

A decat pipe will make it a bit noisier yes, but a rotary isn\'t the quietest of cars, what sort of apexi box do you have?

it was on the car when i bought it, it has an adaptive piston thing in the tail pipe to control the exhaust noise, so what do i do with the pipe then?
