Title: Anyone help Vincent in France - S1 Parts.
Post by: David Nock (RIP) on May 24, 2011, 06:30:09 PM
Vincent placed a great post but in french in Members Rides Forum.

Here\'s the link:

http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70582

With a struggle (thanks to Lacey) we got a fair translation.

Vincent has a 1979 S1 and needs: in Vincent\'s words:-
"carburator Holley 465: http: // //www.racingbeat.com/RX7-1975-1985/Holley Intake-Kits / 18009.html

or weber 45 for stock port a line of escape, the collector I have already found a monza

I also look for one limps gear box ( i research gear box ) , and maybe an engine 12A.
sorry for my bad english  and the traductor is bad"

So he\'s after a carb, an S1 gearbox and possibly a better engine than the one he\'s got. We did define he also wanted a stainless exhaust system but he seems to have forgotten that.

Can anyone help out here?

Actually he seems to be the owner of a cracking S1 here, once he\'s got it running.

Hi David, I have a gearbox I was assured was good, I\'m looking for £0
For it, and should be heading to France in July, I also have a good janspeed system for £0 for any genuine fb owner who would like it. Any bits of any use let me know. The janspeed is just surface rust and will clean up a treat. And at £0 is a bargain.

All the best

Keith.

Yay! I\'m useful for once XD lol

Best of luck sorting the parts for the guy, he really has brought this thing back from the point of no return looking at the photo\'s, it really does deserve to be back in it\'s prime, now that it\'s been cleaned up it does just look lovely.

Wishing him the best of luck finding the parts he needs!

Line of Escape exhaust (Janspeed) parce que plus grand pour l\'automobile de Keith.

Engine 12A in Italy with Davide.

You now to email to me Vincent and I can make connection Vincent<>Keith and connection Vincent<>Davide

Thanks Speedworks, that would be great.

Can you explain in French that Keith is checking his gearbox for whether it is series 1,2 or perhaps series 3.( I think S3 is wrong fit for Vincent\'s S1).
Also Janspeed exhaust may be too big (long) for Keith to transport.

Also if Vincent emails me I can put him in touch direct with Keith, and also Davide in Italy who might have a 12A engine.

Maybe Vincent doesn\'t grasp what the email bit is about? Maybe he does but I\'ve not heard from him.

Thanks again

Dave

I have an s1 box, it is different to the s2 i think.
I couldnt say if it is good or bad as I never drove the car but it would be free to a good home.
Dont have much time at the moment to sort postage prices but I could pack it on a pallet for collection.

Thanks Keith....that\'ll be confusing for Vincent, another Keith. You can be Keith (myatt)

Vincent has now sent me his email so I\'ll pass it to you if that\'s OK.

Since Keith (TRIND) probably has an S2 box, we need to know if it can fit in an S1. I\'ll raise a separate post here and on Ian\'s site.

Sorry for the late reply, I didn\'t get a topic update mail.

Thanks Speedworks.

At the moment Davide in Italy hasn\'t replied at all but Keith (TRIND-FD) is still going to France with his gearbox and exhaust (plus 4 fellas in a Golf....WTF!) He is going to contact Vincent so here\'s hoping.

Pour le moment, Davide d\'Italy n\'a pas repondu mais Keith va venir a France avec la boite, echappement (et 4 autres personnes dans un Golf).

Il contactera Vincent.
