car is a 1989-1991 turbo 2 with stock ecu number n380
ok my car was fine running ok no issures had a stock n380 ecu on it
mods
3" exhaust with turbo leek mod.
Air filter
Ally rad
stock boost
the car was fine i got sent a n374 buddy club ecu and fitted it it drives fine but once warm the idel will sit at 850-800 for about 10 secs then drops to about 700 and is then up and down from 800-650.
tap the throttle will then sit at 850 for 5-10 secs then go back to irattic idel
put stock ecu on and will sit at 850 all is fine.
just wondered as its a chipped n374 not a n380 will the idel need re setting up? if so how do you do this? please a dummy guide ive read about grounding something but i have no idea what im looking at but in the car i did find a bit of wire with croc clip on and one with a light???? ov for doing diagnostic or idel setup.
please help as the ecu runs fine apart from that and if so much more fun to drive with it on.
p.s. dont know what the ecu was setup to but as its a chip most are setup for exhaust air filter intercooler and 1 bar boost (i wanna run .9-.8)
dont know why it would make a diffrence but adjusted the afm screw about 1/4 of a turn and all the idel went to normal turned it further but made no diffrance moved it back to where it was and it went to running rough again, both ecus run fine now???
