Post by: festa on May 23, 2011, 11:47:48 AM
Just wondering if someone would know if this flywheel/clutch setup would fit a 1991 FC T2 JDM car, when looking at some of the info about exedy they list some parts as fitting FCs and early FDs any help apreciated see link below

I thought the FD one came with apush pull converter? and if you used the clutch in an FC then you don\'t use the converter, also I think a counter weight is needed?

There\'s a guide on the Exedy site somewhere - says which extras are required for the different clutch setups.

More often than not it\'s only if you use an aftermarket flywheel that you require the counter weight. The stock flywheel has it built in.

Clutch disks between FD and FC Series 5 (Turbo II and CAB) should be interchangeable as they have the same number of splines and disc size is similar. Cover plates (clutch cover, finger plate - call it what you will) may or may not work. Release bearings can also differ, and some kits may need a fork adaptor to keep pedal travel similar to stock.

The kit comes with a lightened fly wheel so will need a counter weight, will have a look at the exedy site I\'m sure the clutch mitch used was off an FD and fitted?

Had a look on the exedy site and the counter weight number required is the same as the FD so this should fit has any one done it before?

Not really replying to this topic but i have some problems on clutch as well :)

I\'m getting a stage 2 clutch and lighten flywheel from competition clutch. Do I have to have the counter weight on them? and what does the counter weight on the clutch counter weighting?

Cheers

I\'m sure any lightened after market flywheel needs the counterweight, when I looked on the exedy site the mention 2 part numbers dependent on the model number of car the later number is the same as the FD one according to their site.
Mitch did the clutch u fitted need a push pull converter or did it come with one but u didn\'t need it, I\'m sure the exedy clutch will fit with the correct counter weight just not sure if I need the push pull.
Cheers

The clutch I had came with a push pull convertor as it was an FD clutch, to make it fit an FC you just don\'t fit the push pull convertor lol :)

This is what it had (for the FD)
