Got myself a couple on new gauges for my centre pod.
Oil Temp and Pressure. yippeeeee!
Anyone have any ideas as to the best place to fit the temp and pressure senders under the bonnet.
I have had a look but im stuck
Many thanks
AndyR
Easiest way seems to be a Greddy plate that goes between the oil filter and block, it will take both sensors.

....and probably leak! :)
Here is the thread I was thinking of:

Didn\'t know they leaked :(
I have oil temp tapped into the Banjo bolt by the oil filter but I guess there is not room to tap oil pressure there as well?
Kevin
Ian\'s was the one I was thinking of :)
I\'m sure they are generally unproblematic (I imagine there are loads of them fitted?), I expect think auto do some thing simliar/cheaper may be?
I am getting an oil temp/pressure gauge fitted right now, as soon as its in I can post details of what they did if you want?

Yes please mate any info would be of great help
Cheers

No worries mate, I have to phone them tomorrow and check the progress, will get some details and try and get some pics later on for what they done. Hoping they know exactly what there doing!
Oi!
Wasnt the plate that leaked bud, was one of the fittings. And that was because it was broken! Cost me fifty squids to get another machined cause you cant get one of the shelf. The bloke that made it was a right :bandit

This is the GReddy sandwich plate. Has threaded holes for both electrical oil temp and pressure, I think Demon Tweaks now sell them, but for £70  . Mocal are meant to be making one and it should be around £25-£30, the guy to speak to is Mathew Potter, check Mocal (http://www.thinkauto.com/) for contact details. I never managed to get through to him, so just copied the GReddy design and made one from billet Aluminium ;)
Hope that helps, Paul:)
Hey Andy, spoke to the garage today and they reckon its a time consuming job and require additional bits, I reckon like the pic above :( so instead of going ahead I decided to leave it for now. Sorry mate, if I get any info in the future and your still looking wil post it.

Cheers Kevin appreciate it
that helps a lot. looks pretty straight forward enough so it sohuldnt be hard hard to do.
;)
Finally got round to making my sandwich plate. Better late than never I guess:rolleyes: ;)
Not quite as bling as the GReddy one, but here it is:
Looking good. Mocal do a sandwich plate.
The one problem I found was that the oil filter was hitting a screw on the bulkhead side of the inlet manifold.

Just fitted an oil temp sensor yesterday.
Used a Greddy sump plug, internally threaded to accept a Greddy sensor.
I guess it\'s not the perfect place for a sensor, but then again it is the temp of the oil being picked up into the pump and distributed around the engine?

Hi,
I too have bought some gauges recently, and decided the sandwich plate was the way to go.
Lucily for me, while perusing the japan yahoo auction, I came across a greddy trust(?) one. anyway got a mate to bid for it and I got it for 13 sqids!
Hoping shipping and import duty won\'t bump the price up too much.
out of interest, what gauges are people using ? still haven\'t found one I like yet
omori pressure and temp, and EGT
should be getting mine fitted on Wednesday so will show them off as they\'re a bit different......(http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/contrib/icw/017.gif)

Autometer, good quality, functinal and most importantly relatively cheap ;)
Paul:)
They don\'t make a full sweep electrical oil pressure gauge tho\' (I\'m a picky sod ;) )
Greddy oil and water temperature gauges.
Two 52mm gauges in a center speaker pod.

fitted Greddy to my FD3S, FC3S and Cosmo. No problems at all, works fine, take all 1/8 sensors. From experience, TOP !
