about every 3rd week of my life... the intercooler crossover pipework blows off the turbo "y-pipe" no matter what kind of jubilee i fit on it.
anyone come up with a 3rd party solution to this? i.e silicone couplers/pipe. considering heating and bending some stainless steel and using silicone couplers.. is this plausible?
buy a 90 silicone elbow, straight length of alloy pipe and a 45 elbow, should be able to connect it up to a stock IC? you might be limited on the diameter of the pipe on a stock set up because of the strut/alternator.
i did this when going to FMIC, still using cheapy jubbly clips:

the strut brace will restrict the diameter for sure, but can always be flattened with heat, plates and a vice ;)
worked out doin it this way would be well under £50.. which is a bit different to a £150 used Y-pipe.
what boost you running and which end is it blowing off.... Y pipe side or the plastic cross over side?
To be honest with you I was runnin 0.9bar on my stock setup (due to a boost issue) and never had a problem with that bit! there should be 2 raised rings on both sides to help the jubilee clip hold the pipe in place!
Jono
Y-pipe side.. pretty sure i\'m only doing 10-12psi, but its continuously popping up by 1-2 cm and causing me a leak! i\'ll have a look for these rings next time i look. thanks for the pointer :)
