Title: Radio fitting
Post by: Ceri on May 13, 2011, 09:48:22 AM
Hi All

I have just bought a 1999 RS and want to fit a double din JVC into the hole in the dash.  There are 2 white multi-plugs viable and a flat grayish conector on a stiffer wire covered in foam, but no visable aerial jack.  Is there a straight forward way of connecting this lot into the back of the new JVC?  My local Auto electrician says that there must be an amp somewhere in the car but he does not know where so will have to bypass the current wiring by running all new wires to the speakers etc.  Is this right?  Is there anyone who does this job in the South Wales/Cardiff area without having to rewire the system while charging by the hour?

Thanks

Ceri

Thanks Batman (can\'t believe I just said that)  Will you be able to wire it via the amp (existing wiring)?  If so how much would you charge/how long will it take to do?

Thanks

Hi Batman

I took the car to Extreme Sports and Performace nr Bargoed South Wales who sell 7\'s due to another issue and Dave there fitted a mazda part, 2 into 1 conector and fitted the unit.  The 2 white plugs were for front and rear speakers respectively.

Thanks again though
