Just back from a spin and i see some smoke coming off the turbo area, not sure if its between the hotside and coldside of the turbo (shaft area) or elsewhere. Hard to see.
Its not exhaust fumes more like burning small (maybe unburnt oil from the rebuild?)
also saw a drip coming from this area

there was a puddle under this area before i left and the engine mount/ bar/ brace thingie has oil but cant see where its coming from.
Maybe coming from OMP...
doesn\'t seem to be loosing oil though.
have checked and level is same.
anyone got any ideas? will have another poke around now its prob cooled down.

now whats the big rubber hose below the OMP (square block thing behind the ali tube with 4 braided lines going into it)?

Yep Turbo oil drain or return - it\'s not under pressure - but the oil is hot and runny, and will easily find it\'s way out of a lose hose. Incidentally - if you\'ve a rubber hose on there, the pipe it connects to is not round - but oval - so won\'t seal well - you may be better off with a bit of AN10 braided line and fittings in there :)

there was slit at the block / sump side of the rubber hose. i cut it then re attached as was just long enough.
the connector at the block side is slightly at an angle but seems round.
will keep an eye on it and hope will be able to make japfest.
