Title: Outside temperature sensor can you use for other temps?
Post by: scooby_si on June 13, 2004, 05:09:05 PM
Just looking at a device which also has an external temperature sensor for displaying what the outside temp is. Now it occurs to me it maybe of more use measuring intake temps at intercooler or sumin. Would it just be a case of whacking the sensor by the intercooler & trying to arrange wiring so as not to melt?
Or are there any other cunning plans, suggestions or otherwise as to where i can stick it to get a usefull reading? (http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/otn/shocked/Wow1.gif) no not there ya pervs! lol

Yes it can work, but the refresh rate will not be fast enough for it to be used as a charge temp (ACT) sensor. But i\'m sure it would work fine as an intake temp sensor placed just in front of your air filter or something as that temp will still pretty much constant over a certain speed.

Paul:)
