Then came the rotary westfield

Now I have a series 2 non sunroof left hand drive
Over the comming months and possibly years as funds permit, it will be fashioned into a tarmac spec rally car.
As things progress details and progress will be posted up here.
Pics of the car and more details about it will go up tonight

Ta da
I cant understand why it didnt get purchased before me, possibly that the engine has been removed of its T04B or that the pics were not the best.
I think I have said elsewhere that there is a couple of small rust holes in places and one on the chassis rail over the diff. But lets face it you will be hard pushed to find a minter for a couple of hundred ££ now on any car that is japanese and 30ish years old.

Car looks very interesting.

Back Box looks new.....that\'s probably recouped your cash Brian. Not that you\'re selling or anything.

Plus Wheels & Tyres look good.

I\'d like to think I could have my name on the back box, if it will match my Double \'S\' stainless front section.

Presently running standard mild steel Mazda back box on the end of the stainless section. This is slowly going the way of all M/S exhaust boxes. So if it looks like the standard back box (in terms of fitment) we\'re in business.

I\'m in no rush so think of me when it comes off mate.

Definitely looks better in your pics Brian - should be a very interesting project.
As you say, to pick up a car for a few hundred with little corrosion is a bonus these days - well done.

Some of the interior has now been removed and Thursday will see the lovely task of removing sound deadining from the car. The nova rally car goes this week so I get all my garage back. It\'s been 2 years since the nova went in tjere for "a couple of weeks"

I abandoned doing sound deadining last night and instead had a smashing time with a hammer and the 1/4 windows at the back.
I have also decided to give the car a name.
I think "Marmite" is a good choice

\'Mad Marmite\'?.....\'Mandy Marmite\'? (that name is like Vettell chooses).

Sorry there has been no updates but there has been nowt to write about. I did say it was going to be a long project. The westfield has been taking all my time over the last few weeks with the engine out a couple of times and a wrecked gearbox. But that\'s nearly back together and ready for its last hurrah at abingdon in a couple of weeks. Then its FB time.

I went to the crystal palace today for the sprint. What a venue, I wish I had entered the westy. Anyway when I got home I started to take the brodie brittan kit off the rx. When the inlet manifold came off, for some reason I put my fingers in the inlet ports to find the engine is running a half bridge. I did some further digging and have found out that the engine was built by spike winter. Apparently he is/was a legend in the tuning field. Probably nothing to get excited about.

that broke "spike winter", a builder for TWR.
last time, hear about him rebuilt a 13Bpp for a modify ford fiesta/mazda121 race car in the middle 90\'s.

The v8 that runs in the wrong class wad 3rd in class I think from memory. To much other classic machinery to drool over than worry about that. It\'s not that quick though.
