Title: apexi power fc repair?
Post by: MaLicE on May 08, 2011, 08:58:26 PM
anyone know anywhere that will repair the apexi power fc??

mine is ....ed :( recently it will keep resetting it self, losing the settings and map... then today had the car running, realised i had left the map sensor vacume line off stopped the car, plugged the line back on went to start car and the ecu is frozen on the Apexi logo, doesnt go any further, doesnt start the car.... seen a few posts online saying that it could of blown a resistor of some sort and that protects it from working, and that a siemens chip on there is responsible for keeping the memory....

also seen that you can return it to Apexi and they will check and fix or replace it for a fee, which im happy with but i cant find apexi USA\'s email address?

car is just about ready to get mot\'d and drive properly and now its all gone .... up :(

Cheers

if the apexi logo is frozen on the screen, unplug it from the ecu and reconnect it

^^^^ what he says, also check the pins are not bent or water is leaking onto it. Can cause problems as described.

Thanks for the advice but it\'s looking like an internal component. I\'ve checked what I can with differing Commanders to no avail. It looks mint inside and no obvious dry joints.

Could do with a trustworthy ecu techie.
