As per the title really, I am having to put off my mapping session as the clutch is starting to slip a little bit. And really I just want a clutch that is good for fast road use. I have looked through a few threads but seem to go on about big power clutchs, at the mo the car will only be running around 300 mark and maybe 400 when i can afford single turbo conversion. I have been warned off exedy as too expensive for what they are and been recommended to use competition clutch as they are very drivable around town and can withstand the odd launch from the lights,
Thanks alot Dave.
I have an ideal used clutch for ur spec.. It can support up to 450-500 bhp, since it has been used, I only want 250 for the clutch, pressure plate and flywheel.. I can also arrange cheap fitting of a clutch as well. Give me a shout, if u want it!

Email sent mate,

Hi,
I will have an Exedy single carbon clutch assembly available shortly, completed less than 1000 miles. It was fitted last year and is being replaced by a triple.
Let me know if your interested.
Chris
last nite removed the gearbox which I must say was alot easier than first thought after reading some stories.A few things, the flywheel on the car is secured by a 54mm nut in the center but the new flywheel has 6 holes in a circle is this right and will it still fit.
second question, the friction plate has dampers which stick out one side and i not sure which way round the plate goes on.
Last question is what gearbox and diff oil should i use and how much do i need.
Thanks in advance Dave.
Another thing the easiest way i found to get the gearbox off was to remove small inspection plate and undo clutch bolts and take off with the box, where as all the other write ups seem to say u just pull off, there is a clip around the release bearing that does not come off, all in all if i had to do this again i think to take gearbox off would take 2.5 hours easy, also if fitting the clutch to gearbox first then just spinning it to sit on the flywheel not sure why i need clutch alignment tool or am i missing something.
Any help with gearbox and diff oil ??? i refiling today as i now have new release bearing and a 54mm socket for removing flywheel.
I found gearbox oil as 75w90 or redline mt 90, but nothing about diff oil recommendations ???
The box went back in the other night all well an good, new oil making changes alot smoother an the clutch pedal being a bit firmer now.Gettin used to the clutch now as it very om/off an stalled a couple of times at first ha ha.Only problem i had that the flywheel would not come off,i bought a 54mm socket and used a impact ractchet but would not budge so i had to leave the lightweight flywheel off as needed to move car of mates drive coz he moving house, maybe another day...........
what impact ratchet did you use? it needs to be quite beefy, as the nut is torqued up very high.
My engine builder had to use a bit of heat on the nut before using the air impact gun

soaked in wd40 then tried it then i heated it up 3 times trying each time but is only a 24v impact ratchet so nothing like a air gun, but as it on mates drive all apart could not take it anywhere to get off :-( i Now thinking that i might be buying(when money allows) buy another enine to rebuild and fit to that ready to drop in.
the only other way if it was on ramps would be a scaffolding pole on a breaker bar and use leverage, making sure you choke the teeth of the flywheel so it does not spin round
Was only on axle stands so could only get a 2ft long breaker on it and me (15stone) hangin from it was not enough.
