I know this is probably going to be an obvious answer, but I just want to clarify things!!
Basicaly I am fitting water injection to a 2.0 Turbo Vauxhall 8v engine.... the engine is running 250cc injectors and by the net calculations to get the 10% W/F ratio mix I should be looking at pumping in 100cc/min in to the engine..... now here is the thing, I\'m going to be going pre turbo with the water so does this change the jet size?? also the jet I\'ve got is a 50cc/min unit, so what would the afect be running this.... would it just be I\'m not getting as good a result as I could???

unless you are upping the boost no point in fitting WI, whats the stock boost on this engine?
Was 0.0 bar, now 0.8bar! lol was NA but now turbo!! it\'s for the drift truck which runs a vauxhall 8v lump from the old mk3 cav! so fitting WI as bit of a safety net!

ahh so it is high compression engine, go post turbo WI in that case, as pre turbo will make it more efficiant and you will probably pop the head gasket
I agree with blitz on this. If it was originally a turbo\'d engine preturbo would have been best to increase the efficiency of the turbo, the ingested air would have been more dense, giving more power etc.
If you put it post intercooler make sure your not spraying it from one side of the intake elbow directly at the opposite wall as you could end up pooling the water instead of creating a mist/fog in their flow. Try put it on an elbow pointing directly into the centre of the tube for best cooling and reduced risk of pooling.
You don\'t want to inject too much water as you could end up reducing the power of the engine because your ignition cabt handle the water.
You may already know the drivel I have just written but just making sure.
If you want to know how much water to use then get yourself onto aquamist forum and PM Richard L as he set the site up and knows his shizzle
The engine is a low compression unit... it has a 9.2:1 CR and the official turbo engine has a 9.0:1 CR.... also the engine as it stands is aparantly good to run 20psi (but you would need aftermarket managment for that aparantly... soooooo......
what your guys thoughts now?? quick reply I hope as I\'m wanting to put it in to the intake tomorrow!!

Go preturbo then. It will be easier to run a setup as you could run it pumpsless and just presurise the the system off the turbo but only have it I next water at x psi.
You don\'t have to worry about a pump failing then. Just about how much water you use.
Is the tubo on the small side?

This may help
Could you do what I am doing with my RX7 and run a larger turbo at lower boost for the same power level?
Who\'s the question for?
Yea, Turbo is a TD04L off an impreza, the system is going to be activated at 0.5bar using a pressure switch that activates a solonoid valve, and inject neat water..... sound about right??
It might be a good thing that I am only injecting 50cc, also how far away from the turbo should I put the nozzle.... I can put the jet about 6" away from the turbo and it will be directly infront of the compressor wheel aswell.... does this sound about right??

How small of a droplet does the water nozzle produce? As if they are too big you could essentially destroy the turbo prety quickly.
From what I understand it is best to put the nozzle as far away as possible from the turbo but put it before any bends so as much heat is taken out of the charged air without the water dropping out of suspension in the air, once it huts the hot turbo, the spinning and heat should "vaporise" the water cooling everything down, don\'t worry about it pooling in the IC as if the turbo has done the job and smashed the water particles to bits they won\'t form as droplets.
Even without upping the boost you should feel a difference in the midrange simply fromthe denser air being ingested ( think of it as having a larger charger without spending any money on turbos) cooler air temps and the fact that det will be probably be no exhistent.
You could even ditch the IC and run the WI from as minimal boost as possible, instant spooling turbo, you would just need a very large tank for the water?!
Have you thought of running another nozzle infront of the intercooler, t\'d off from the preturbo nozzle to spray water onto the IC? bit over the top, but you could add a temp sensor in there so that once x temp has been reached, the boost controlled solenoid would spray the IC until temp has dropped back down?
