Title: Compression testing Rotaries
Post by: syebba on May 01, 2011, 09:06:13 PM
Anyone had their rotary compression checked using the correct/accurate mazda diagnostic equipment?

If so what were the readings?

It\'s surprising so few owners bother, when we all know this is an important check to determine the health of a rotary.

12A rebuilds are now £2500 plus vat,it\'s worth checking yours,or you could get lucky if your engine goes pop & you find a 2nd hand replacement off ebay.

Would be good to know when a rotary is gonna go pop according to compression readings[i know this exc water seal failure]
ta stu..

In the current market if I still had a 12A and it went pop I\'d just do what I did with NEV when I first got him and just buy another second hand lump, back on the road after an afternoons work.

Would be nice to comp test the new one before you fit it though.
£25 for piece of mind, bargain.
