Title: Biggest brakes with standard FD wheels
Post by: J_T on April 29, 2011, 09:49:02 PM
Hi,

What are the biggest brakes you can fit under the standard OEM FD wheels?  Has anyone got the internal profile dimensions of the standard wheels to compare with the brake company diagrams please?

Thanks,
JT

which standard wheels. the RS had 17" alloys because they had larger disks. 330mm i believe. 16" alloys would not fit over them

Ah, I wasn\'t sure if that was the case or not - good info, thanks.

I\'ve got the 16s so I\'d need to go smaller then.  Seen the AtomicRex 325 kits which I\'m guessing are too big and the K-Sport 304mm kits from Silverstone Autosport which may be one of the best options for these wheels.

The OEM brakes are pretty good, change the pads, fluid and fit braided lines :)

thats what i thought. im starting to be a firm beliver that mazda engineers put alot of effort into these cars and throwing different brake set ups on front with screw it up. front and rears have been designed to work together. oversize fronts and bias`s etc will be needed.    i like improving on oem by doing what m1tch said:p

We can supply pretty much any variation you like when it comes to rotor and bracket combination.

Off the shelf though you could run a 335mm kit?  That would fit under 16" rims
