FOR SALE 1986 SERIES 3 RX7 BODYSHELL
Up for sale is my series 3 RX7 bodyshell which has been my ongoing project for the last 16 months.

These photos are from when I bought it in Dec 2009... it\'s been in my garage ever since and does include the bonnet...which isn\'t shown here.
I no longer have the time, inclination or interest to continue with this car and I’m going to put all my time, efforts and money into my road going Elford turbo and I’ll use the parts that I’ve refurbed on that car.
This shell is complete with the exception of the running gear, engine, gearbox and hard lines for fuel and brakes and is an easy project for someone. There is some corrosion in the usual 1st gen areas but nothing terminal.
The loom etc is intact and apart from a bit of welding and a new windscreen, the car is ready to reassemble... get one of the cheapo series 3 scrappers off ebay as a donor car and this’ll make a great project.
The majority of the underside of the shell has been stripped and coated with POR15 to protect it.
It’s really too good to scrap .....I’ll give it a couple of days to see if anybody wants to take this on but I want my garage back asap.
Anyone interested can PM me through the forum or email me at ian08 at sky dot com.
Here’s my restoration thread featuring this car....

I’m sad not to continue with it but I’ve reached the conclusion that I’m spreading myself too thin and I’ve got so many other things going on that it’ll never get done.... I’m going to concentrate on getting my other 1st gen into tip top condition.
I paid £100 for it and that\'s what I want for it
if only I had the space. Good luck Ian as thats for nothing.

I hope someone takes it on but if there\'s no interest, I\'ll cut it up on Monday, weigh in the shell and ebay the other bits fitted to it.... it\'s worth more to me in bits but I\'d rather it lived on really.
I\'m sure your right, but when the lengths some go to to rebuild shells this one is almost there, the wings and doors alone will make more than that, wonder what the tank is like.
I\'d got that NOS tank to go on it but I\'ll keep that for my car now.
If I cut the shell up I\'ll keep the front wings as spares... they\'re in ace condition so I might as well hang on to them..... likewise some of the interior and the original clarion stereo etc
I am interested but at work till later. Pm me you number and I will give you a call. Cheers
Brian
pm sent.......!

Hi David,
I have been watching this one, And im now in the position to take a look for parts. Its defo going back on the road standard except from a set of twr alloys. Will be down tims in the next week so will get those details for you, Did your friend have any joy with the blue car ?
Keith.
Ian\'s put a lot of work into that shell,it\'s a very good base for a rebuild.
Should be a good solid Fb when completed.

I shall follow with the Hard work and dedication Ian has put into this car, And its in the right place to get finished well. Got 2 spray booths, Shot blast facility and cabinet. So cleaning of parts and painting them should be easy for me. At home its a pain to keep shipping stuff around.

Oh Yes, I remember now. I told the guy about it but he was at the start of his search and I don\'t think he can have followed it up. Also was it possibly sold?
Anyway, have another look when you\'re there and if it\'s still there I can let him know about it again as he\'s looking closely now.
