Title: Which rear fenders would fit the puzzle??
Post by: Carbon RX on April 11, 2011, 10:46:26 AM
Hi Guys,
I\'m womndering what my options are as looking to carbon skin some rear over fenders to marry my front to rear to those who know my car since new rear bumper was added.
Ive seen the dmax ones that roll the arch too much to marry my lines, am looking to chop these items to fit before adding carbon to achieve a smooth transition, Any ideas of what i could possible use? Ive seen some RE-A ones but not gauged in a good pic yet wether they would work?
Not had the car out of garage this yr yet for a decent snap but you can get the jist from piccy below i hope... :o

How it used to be (planning on carbonating my existing skirts to match also)

And now with new bumper fitted (will cut and join lines to fenders)

Any input will be greatly appreciated :D:cool:

So your looking for rear arches which then your going to get carbon covered?
Have you got any pictures of the ones you\'ve got in mind?

Yes exactly! :)

Ive got to grips with the art of skinning with carbon fabric and see no other way other than skinning my metal arch...

Im open to options on type which is why ive asked for some assistance, as i have only found 3-4 options soo far but all have their issues for my applications such as widths etc.. :o

found so far;
Any others on market???

not sure if you can get them seperately but... Kazama?
The squareness of them might work with your skirts

Adam, They look like the join would be one of the best fitting options so far, however they are so reformed in terms of body shape i feel the st. front archs would look odd...

I think i may have my work cut out with this... If they are not 100% perfect in terms of shape for joining i could possible modify when carbon skinning to help trasition between.

I cant have to wide rear arches with st. shape fronts can i? would look odd poll? lol

50mm i think is too much but 20-25 should be ok?:o

Cant find any pictures at the mo but i have seen cars with those rears and standard fronts and they do look ok.
Have a look though this site as it may give you some more idea

I have added that wiki page as a fav on my comp. from another post someone linked it too, its very useful, but thought would take me forever finding the kits that had read fenders as part of them lol

I guess ive gotta stop being lazy and start working my way through them i guess :rollin
