Hey, Just took out my manual rack (power fully converted) and going back to power but was wondering if the rack bleeds itself? Or dose it need a helping hand?
Cheers folks
Yes and no.............
If you have lost the fluid you need to turn the wheel back and forth through the complete turn quite a few times to bleed the system without the pump on. It will bung on one side.
Its easier to do it with the front jacked up.
Shaun
so with the pump not running is the best way to bleed it. the cars off the ground at the min so thats a doable task.
cheers for that
Yes initially, they don\'t like running dry !
Shaun
Cheers man, I\'ll find out in a few days if I was successful or not.

whats the manual rack you removed?
selling it?
Mite as well sell it I quess. It\'s a power rack but iv welded the quill and removed all the fluid seals that would be round the pinion and on the rack. Then just removes all the pipes and plugged the holes. Can send you a pic if ou want?
How was the manual rack for parking, turning at slow speeds etc...?
Not to good sitting still but it eases up a good bit when moving, even slowly. Never going to be as easy as power but when on track it\'s a good positive feeling on the wheel. Can feel what the front wheels are doing on road surface. No fluid to dampen the feel.
