Title: Haltech ECU and tuners..
Post by: 12at on April 05, 2011, 04:43:49 PM
Hey guys,

I just wanted to see if anyone here in the UK is running a Haltech ECU inparticular the Platnium 1000 by any chance??

Ive sold my microtech LT10s and on the new engine going to run a haltech.

Who knows of a tuner who i may be able to use?

Thanks

Kev tunes his own Cosmo on a platinum sport and i used to run the 13pp on on the E11v2.
Iv still got the E11 and i will be using it to run the 20b FD and tuning it myself when the engine is in.

Dont know of any tuners though as iv never looked into it.

Cracking ecu btw ;)

AET Turbos in normanton distribute the ecus and can do a full map for you for 500 and set up what you want it to do etc. If you don\'t have a base map on the car it may take them longer and cost more.0

You will be able to put a reasonable map on yourself with very little problem if you have access to a wide band. Email Haltec or better yet post on the haltec forum spec\'s of the engine and they will email something to get you going. Its a very user friendly bit of kit no fancy software or datalogits required etc and if using the plat 1000 sport its usb port equipped so any laptop with the software downloaded from there site will get you tuning. If you don\'t want to DIY then any of the usual tuners should have no problem tuning for you it\'ll just take them a little longer not knowing the key shortcuts.

Yeh ive spoken to a few of the evo / wrx tuners that use the Haltechs and they have all said that they are good and experienced with the haltech just never done anything with a rotary..

So we see how it goes and compared to a microtech the ecu looks like a whole new language and awesome bit of kit to learn up on :)

i took my car to him when i had the microtech and its too far to be honest.. would rather someone down london way if possible .. Worst case can just run it as closed loop and set a AFR and use my wideband and cruise it around
