Title: Am within days of buying an RX-7
Post by: Del Lardo on June 09, 2004, 11:54:17 PM
and I have a couple of questions.

The car has done 59 000 miles.  It\'s had a fairly easy life.  Can you give me a guesstimate of what sort of mileage I could expect an engine rebuild?

The red-line starts at 7000 rpm and a buzzer comes on.   Does it really rev to 9000rpm?

Cheers

being treated well may mean it should last a lot longer than the figure everyone quotes of 60k for a rebuild but i\'d certainly want to budget for one on those miles......lol
Buzzer is just to remind you changing gear might be cunning but i think it will carry on revving up to that kind of figure if you like giving it large but not sure how advisable it is to always do that.......

but for what it\'s worth that could be a good bargaining tool if it\'s not already had rebuild as i\'d expect it to be quite well (AKA low) priced as it seems many have trouble selling at such milage.....

I have a customer who bought a car month ago but due to some personal prblems has to get rid of it desperately. It\'s 95 type r in red. With 42,000 miles on the clock in perfect condition, bbs 17 inch alloys cool alpine hifi and toad cat 1 alarm about 5 months tax left. the only mod is a back box the rest is all standard.
This is the cheapest best condition 95 type r you can buy for £9,000 with that kind of mileage I can gic#ve you his contact if interested.

FD\'s with original trims and very little aftermarket parts is always a good sign the car gets driven sensibly.:)
