Title: Check Engine Light...Where is it?..
Post by: kash786 on March 23, 2011, 10:29:46 PM
Hi guys,

Just bought my first rx7:Santa, over the moooon!:D! it had a slight accident, needed sme wishbones etc replacing, but mann... shes a beauty!:2eek

im relatively inexperienced with rex\'s..i have just one question..gonna sound really but i really did try looking for start up vid\'s etc everywhere, and cannot find what i want to know!!

It\'s a 1995 import from japan, and when i drove it it just wasnt as fast as i KNOW it should be, i\'v never sat it one, but come on, im assuming i \'should\' know how fast it would be, espcially if it can give skylines etc a run for the money when done up just right. so i thought hey no biggie, im bringing this back from the dead, and want it to perform better than its done in its life, and naturally went to do a simple ecu chek (ten and gnd wire connection)...when i realised...theres no check engine light :|!

even in key position 1, i don\'t see any check engine light :|!

can someone (kindly) show me where i should be able to find it, or even better just a pic of what lights we should see in key position 1, coz i have a sneaky feeling somebody has...REMOVED THE FRIGGIN BULB!

thanks

kash

Jap imports don\'t have a diagnostic light. Join ten and ground and put the positive(anode, long leg)of an LED into +b and the negative(cathode, short leg) of the LED into FEN. When you switch on the ignition the LED will display the codes.
Long flashes are units of ten, shorter ones are single units.
