Title: hi from the south coast
Post by: FD Dave on March 20, 2011, 10:04:23 PM
Hi my names dave and i have recently become the proud owner of this gorgeous fd, i expect a few of you will recognise the car as the previous owner/owners were members on here. Going from a honda civic type r is a bit of a culture shock but i absolutely love it. Currently i dont have any plans for it as i see it as a bit of a hommage to the work of the previous owners to get it to where it is today. After forking out over 4k on the civic, and god knows how many hours i plan to just enjoy this one for a while rather than being underneath it all the time until i start to get the itch lol.

Its a 1997 jdm bathurst edition(am told these are rather rare although dont know too much about the history as to why yet)from what im aware the only significant difference is the red leather seats and twin oil coolers, although i have seen other models with this feature.
currently the spec stands at:

apexi fc power commander
g reddy boost controller
uprated front mount i/c
methanol/water injection system(currently turned off but will research potential power gains with this once im use to the car)
hks downpipe with 3.0" racing beat system cat back
bailey dump valve
uprated fuel pump and injectors
tein superstreet coilovers
99spec front end
complete poly bush kit
weds alloys
drilled and grooved discs with uprated pads all round
currently running 350bhp at 0.8bar and 370bhp at 1.0bar, flywheel figures.
also the car is still running the twin turbo setup.

future plans maybe to fit a v mount kit, start to play around with boost levels with the methanol system on although i will do alot of research first, and then possibly look to do a single turbo conversion although for now i like the smooth delivery of the sequential set up.

juct a couple of quick questions, does anyone know what fuse is for the horn as it has stopped working? i have no idea due to it all being in japanese under there lol, along with this the auto down feature has stopped working on the drivers window which really bugs me for some reason lol. Also what power figures could i look at for the future with the stock turbo set up and water injection system? am i right in understanding this system allows you to run higher levels of boost whilst keeping cylinder temperatures down and therefore reducing the risk of det?sorry if this a complete noob question but this is my first turbo car and have a small amount of knowledge on boost.:Typing

only have the one pic for the moment but will upload more when i get chance.

I still love my civic to bits, only changed to the rex as I;ve got knee issues and its far easier to drive, less cramped up against the dash and a better seating position.

We moved around a lot, lived in North End, Cosham, Fareham, before moving to Derby then back down to Surrey. :)
