Here I have my joy and pride for sale.
History:
The car has never been owned by anyone. I have owned this car for the last 3 years-in fact I went to Japan to buy it. I have the pictures of the car when it was in Japan.
The engine is newly rebuild and it has only done around 800Miles-hence it needs to be remapped and checked by WGT at some point. It is under warranty.

I saw a lot of the work that Super 7 put into making this originally, and some of the fab work and attention to detail is truly spot-on. The amount of man-hours that went in makes it a bargain at (almost) any price. GLWTS!

It\'s 93 Type R. It has been owned by 2 people, one in japan who bought it brand new in 1993 and second is me!! It has done on chasis 68 thousand kilometers..

Bring it to shows and stick a for sale sign and spec sheet in the window when you leave it on show, has helped sell many a car to an enthusiastic buyer and usually good home for a decent price over the years! Worked for the person selling the 20b Cosmo last Rotorstock I believe! £20 odd K I think they put it up for and sold it too unless somebody knows otherwise?

For the money you\'re asking on pistonheads I would really expect a more in depth advert and a complete car (you mentioned the ecu in you\'re first post)
On the other hand, this car is badass and should sell itself.
Personally if i were to buy an fd of this spec Id want to know every detail about it.

If you"re planning to sell it for another rotary, i can\'t honestly think of something better than an a complete FD 20B with built engine.
Get the ECU, have it tuned by Pip and you\'ll instandly ask yourself why you even though of selling it.
It looks to be a lovely car, however, with the greatest respect:
If I was spending 30k on an FD, I\'d want it to be perfect in every way.
I honestly think you\'ll have a lot of difficulty selling it un run in and unmapped.
Run in the last few hundred miles, get an ECU, get it mapped, write a full spec least, and do something about the interior - a few hundred quid will get the seats recovered, and less than £100 should get you some good condition stock interior parts that will match the class of the rest of the car - or if you can run to it, I\'d look at getting some of the parts flocked/alcantara covered. Making this small (compared to the rest of the car) outlay would \'finish\' the car in my eyes, and I reckon would make it a lot more attractive to the sort of buyer who\'s got 30k to splumf on an FD.
The market is rubbish at the moment and cars are fetching nowhere near what they are worth.
It\'s a great car, I just think it needs a bit more attention to maximise your chance of a sale in the current market.

YES mate, you are right, since you mentioned this; I would like to suggest that even thou the car is up for sale, I have been buying things left right and center. I have already bought the interior goods off someone here. I have also sourced many other things that needed to be done on the car. I am anticipating that the interior things will be arriving soon, as far the running in is concerned..I am just waiting for some cash to clear up so that I can do that as well and put the final bhp figure of the car-Microtech is not a bad ECU, but its just not that advanced as Motec! but as you know yourself-FDs are never finishing projects...I can never say that I have done everything to attract the customer. But, off-course I take your point on board and further admit that what you have mentioned would attract the customers :cheers..

I just cant see how you would get close to the £30k asking price by breaking though, does the value of the car not lie with the 20b conversion? Sell the engine and components and your left with a body kitted shell, all be it a nice shell, but in this day an age of rx7\'s being broken every where you look, there are a few shells about for not a lot of money.
I am sure you know your figures, but kind of agree with most other comments, get it run in, mapped and head to the shows with a for sale sign and hope some rich lad falls in love with it and just cant say no :Thumbsup!
Out of interest if you did break it. Lets say someone wanted the conversion and another wanted the shell.
Could a 13B be dropped back in to it with ease, or would certain thing have been changed for the 20B to go in?
changes have been made to install 20b. But, to install 13b would not be impossible as the sub frame needs to be changed and some other minor modification needs to be done.

Well it will be a real shame to sell this car as it is a perfect shell for a quad rotor. The fire wall, chasis, subframe, power plant, propshaft are all ready to take the 4 rotor. It\'s just me who is desparate to start four rotor project. I know I will never find a shell like this again! :(

Just re read the thread.... 10k price drop, thats quite a chunk!
In my honest humble opinion if i were you, i would make your mind up pretty quick, its 6 months since this was first advertised, with 12 months engine warranty, so with 6 months remaining (coming into winter) the engine package probably isnt looking as attractive as it was at the start of summer (if that makes sense).
When i went down the route of breaking my single, i listed the parts i needed to sell to justify breaking it i.e cash return, until i had buyers for all those parts i wasnt going to break! Once i had the buyers lined up for the major parts it was a very easy process, valuable items went out the door within a week, the bank balance was topped up nicely and quickly more importantly, which just left some sundries which when sold seemed like a bonus!
It would seem like there are a lot of good value, desirable items on the car which looking at other breaking threads of quality cars would sell easily and quickly!
But will emphasise again the importance of making a decision whilst your engine still has a good warranty period!
Get a list together with prices and make it clear nothing will sell until say, engine or shell or all associated parts have sold, depending on which is your priority.
Just my 2p worth.
Or alternatively, if the shell is ready for a 4 rotor, why not just use your rebuilt 3 rotor as a donor (if you can), surely thats more cost effective?

This is what I was exactly thinking. I am thinking now to keep my 3 rotor and build myself a 4 rotor as well. :eek:
The only problem with that would be, my 4 rotor project will be delayed substantially as I would need to raise funds to afford two FDs.

Just trying to offer some advise from a non emotionally attached prospective.
Having a 3 and 4 rotor Fd would be just overkill, if you had both i would ask when you went out with keys to both, would you ever decide to drive the 3 when you have a 4 sat there, i doubt it!

Why not offer a complete 3rotor conversion for sale ? Surely that would fund a nice chunk of your quad rotor project ? With half the warrenty gone from the engine however you will loose a nice chunk of your investment but still gain enough from the sale if you get me...

I think new loom and Motec ECU is a must for Rotary. I am speaking from experience! I have used PFC, Microtec and owned a supra which had Haltec ECU!

already on my shopping list, I have budgeted for this after it has been run in I am just hoping I can save some money on the re-build as I was the same as you I ended with a new housing last time as it had done the devils claw job, but I did do lots and lots of miles on it before I realised what was wrong, this time as soon as it happened i drove her straight home just 3 miles,, so I may have got away with it,, I will soon find out :Nono!

Have you used the new Haltech??, dont always go by what a tuner tells you or the end result with the mapping, a ecu is only as good as the mappers input, or how will they know the ecu!!
You would be surprised how will some cars drive even with ecu\'s which you would never consider using

I have changed the Ecu, gone for motec M84 (upgraded version one). New wiring loom, new sensors, Ignition Amp, 4 bar map sensor, Mocal 25 row Oil Coolers x 2, R Magic Lights, Re Bridge Bar, some more top secrete tweeks!!
Currently working on the fuel system!
So that\'s so far is done and more is on it\'s way!!

chris impey uses a link G4 ecu too, and he is the fastest at the moment isnt he?

well if Pip can get half of the BHP you are searching for out of my Twin Turbos I will be a happy bunny,, 450-500 at the motor will do for me just what else I will need to do is the tricky bit
I expect a bigger intercooler will be reqd it has already been street ported and the ECU I hope will be enough but I am sure Pip will enlighten me.

I know some guys in Aus running 450+ with just an ecu exhaust, intake and intercooler on their Cosmos
I think 3 rotor is easily capable of producing 500bhp. You just Need to concentrate on the reliability! ECU is a must because you have a ported motor! Pip knows his stuff so let him know all the mods!

i know someone that made 476rwhp on standard ports with a GT4094R turbo, and produced loads of torque too. on low boost too. 1 bar

yes the car is still for sale. It can be shipped to Australia no problem at all. I adverstised the car intinially for 30000 pounds but then droped it 20000. You know the currency rate changes on daily basis so according to today\'s rate it will cost you 30,550.34 AUD
if you accepted this price the car will sold to you. You rejected this offer, I am tempted to change the price and raise it as I have recently spent arround 4k on Motec ECU, brand new wiring loom, brand new sensors, Ignition Amps, 4 Bar map sensor etc etc.

@Mir - Can I ask who did your dashboard red? What did they use to do it and how did you get the colour match with the door cards?
I\'ve always liked the red interior in FD\'s and considered painting my door cards etc.. Just didn\'t want to do it and have it turn out horrible and crack, peel, fade at a later date.

gav240z, there is a painter guy local to me, he used some sort of a chemical before he painted the dash. Its been 3 years or so and the paint is still fine on the dash....
As far the car is concerned, I have chucked so much money on this car now that, selling it would just make me cry....:) :D..The car is completely transformed and soon coming out better and faster...
I have spent nearly ummm forget it....too much money is spent... :) :D :o

Yeah we made 555 HP on the hubs, 65000 rpm at 0.7 bar of a boost.
I would love to have a quad rotor but i need to get married first. :)
