Title: Greetings!
Post by: Lacey on March 11, 2011, 04:40:33 PM
Howdy everybody!

A handful of you know me already, and I\'ve met a fair few of you before, at the last 2 Rotorstock\'s and the last Brooklands, also a personal friend of Liam, Prof, Aceman, AMH, and acquaintance of probably many more :)

So yes! Those of you who know me, do, and hello to those who don\'t. ^_^

For those of you who don\'t know my, I\'m 23, fire dancer and pyro performer, semi-professional model but havn\'t done that for ages, co-owner and co-founder of JapGirls.co.uk, and freaky little pitty-inducing cripple. XD

My account was activated a while ago but I\'ve been waiting until plans have been properly confirmed before posting here, as the last car I tried to buy and got my hopes up for was a massive let down.

But all has changed now! Being delivered tomorrow to the doorstep is a lovely little EGI in gunmetal gray, that has big plans waiting for it when I have more funds!

For the most part it\'s in (in Prof\'s own words) shockingly good condition. The underside has hardly any rust whatsoever, the wheel arches aren\'t rusty, the only real rust other than a bit of surface rub-back require is (surprise surprise) the sunroof. The only other bad points I could see body-wise is that 1, the exhaust can on the drivers side has been hung a bit too high, and melted the bumper into an idiotic shape (annoying, but what can you do other than re-hang it), and the drivers door has lumps of paint missing on the edge by the handle where somebody at some point in it\'s more recent years has tried to (bloody amateurishly) crowbar the door open and failed miserably.

It has a (semi?) stainless exhaust system, that as far as I remember just needs a new header to make it a full stainless system, didn\'t look at the manufacturer but will find out tomorrow.

The interior is mint, has 2 brand new Corbeau Forza reclining bucket seats, and the rest of the interior is (as I;m told it\'s rare, so mentioning it) red cloth and red leather, and looks absolutely stunning.

It\'s currently in non-starting condition, but it\'s so badly flooded there is fuel in the oil, so I have every bit of confidence that once the oil has been flushed and changed, new oil filter, new spark plugs and an inspection of the injectors, it will come back to life in no time at all.

And if not, for £550 delivered, I\'m not doing any complaining!

As with all good things, you\'re going to have to wait for pictures until I can take some, so keep your eyes peeled as pictures of both the good and the bad will be making an appearance tomorrow (providing it\'s here before it gets dark). :)

Sorry, bit of an essay of a hello there, but better to be detailed than have questions :) If you\'re looking for my mugshot I already posted it here :P

Thanks everybody! Nice to be here ^_^

Shouldn\'t be toooooo much work actually! It\'s just basically getting it de-flooded, fired up, compression tested and then that\'s the mechanical side of it sorted. Bodywork might take a little longer to get fixed up, but it\'s nothing a bit of time and effort wont have fixed up!

And nope, no pics yet, the 3 I have are awful, low res and naff quality, so may as well wait until tomorrow and take some once it\'s been delivered, that way I can take pictures of everything - good and bad. :)

Most certainly! Will likely be at both this years Rotorstock and also this years Brooklands as well, attending (hopefully) neither in the Civic this year! Unless they fall before end of May, in which case hard luck on me I guess!

Thanks Brett!! Pretty sure I;ve met you at shows though can\'t pin a face? I\'ve definitely met Clive and Lisa, Pete, etc etc, probably loads more who\'s forum names I can\'t remember, papercutout I think as well.

Glad to be here. :)

Likewise! Glad to be here for real now! And thanks for the wishes of luck - might need them!!

Just waiting on the phone call today to let me know what time the low-loader is going to arrive with my EGI on it, will snap a quick pick of it on there, get it onto the driveway then go a bit nutty with the camera, take pictures of everything - the good points and the bad points, for reference of how far it\'s come when it\'s done!

After that need to get busy sorting bits, have fresh oil, new plugs and a new oil filter, so all that needs replacing, oil change (seeing as even the oil utterly stinks of petrol, but no mayonaise which was awesome news), drain out and clean up, then see if it comes roaring back to life! Which for the love of the gods I\'m hoping it does XD

Either way, for £550 delivered, can\'t really complain about the engine when the shell is basically mint. XD

Lots of little bits and pieces to be worked through, will do a proper update later tonight.

(also, where\'s the appropriate place to post a spamload of pictures? 2nd gen RX-7 section? Rather than posting them in here I was just going to post them in a more appropriate place and link to them in a post in this thread, save me double posting the same pictures.)

Fair enough, just wanted to make sure there wasn\'t some super top secret designated section to stick \'em in, so will do! Will likely post them in the FC\'s section, since it says pics and info!

And thanks! Street Fighter has always been a great game! Nothing beats a good Hadouken! :P

Might have come from bristol.

Most recent seller (before the guy I bought it from) is a Ben from Brentwood, Mr Holman took it to a place in West Sussex in \'08, and the Mr Holman owned it for some time, oldest thing I have with his name on history wise is from 1999, between that I don\'t have a clue :/
