Hi All,
1 or 2 of the lamps behind the my rev counter/speedo have blown, does anyone know the procedure for replacing them? Also, does anyone know where I can source the lamps?
I may as well replace the lot, centre console included, and may replace them for a different colour, is this possible? I was thinking VW blue or similar????
Thanks for any advice forthcoming.
*Sorry, just noticed I posted this in the 3rd gen section!
Hi Nick, i\'m also in South Wales and my unit is near to Blackwood. If you are struggling as how to remove the dash pop in and i\'ll show you how to remove it. It\'s easy when you know how! I\'ve got a load of bulbs there, all work but are used but if you are stuck you are welcome to use some of them :Thumbs-up
Dave.
Nice one Dave, that\'d be great.
I\'ll try and get up to you one morning this week. What\'s the address of your unit?
Cheers, Nick.
Hi Nick,
I\'m there on Weds afternoon and then Thursday & Friday all day this week, it\'s Unit C2, NP12 3SP.

sorry to hi-jack but what makes it green? is it the bulbs or is the plastic tinted green?
To be pefectly honest that\'s a good question and the answer is i\'m not sure :Viking. I have 100\'s of RX7\'s now and never really thought about that as i\'m always to busy making sure the engines are ok!
Probably the bulbs? I know the later spec cars have a green illumination but i\'m sure someone else will give you a better answer than me :Thumbs-up
Dave.
I would say the colour is due the lamps. There doesn\'t appear to be any tint on the dials or glass etc.
Dave, I\'ll try and get up to you on Thursday or Friday morning, I\'ll text to confirm you\'re going to be there.
Thanks again,
Nick.
No worries matey, see you soon :cheers
My experience with dash bulbs is that usually ( as with my last celica) the bulbs are actually clear/white but they had green (mini condoms) over them to colourise...
I got replacement blue bulbs from tinternet off shelf items and simply plugged inplace of old ones.... simples...
Ony thing is they are all over the dash when you get to it, an so causes quite a break down of components... not really worth it in end i think looking back as effect is quite minimal.
I just thought that if I have to replace a couple I may as well try a different colour.
These things help get me through the day :):):):)
The colour is on the acetate behind the dials. The lamps are normal 501 bulbs.
If youw ant to change the colour, you need to disasemble the dials, then use acetone to clean off the tint, and then rebuild, and replace the bulbs.
In that case, they\'re staying red!
