On the spec list when i bought the car it said: RS Pantera aftermarket high flow turbo (may be?) <- it really said \'may be\' in the list lol
I didnt really have a deep look at it until i came across this.

This photo was in the MRC old post about boost controller : http://mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50834
and mine looks like this:

BTW my car is a 1990 FC turbo
So... is this the Hitachi turbo?
Louis
Its hard to tell without seeing more of it...
yea I will get more shots tmrw :)
maybe has uprated internals?
stock turbo has HT-18s-2s bossed on it,, also has a 6 bladed compressor wheel in a 0.55 cover
S, T, V, H trim to4 b wheel is 8 blades, with 48-56 mm inducer and in a 0.60 cover ( 70 mm exducer )
( but often S, T and V are fitted into a hogged HT18-2s cover , very thin wall at the inducer inlet )
knightsports s320 turbo is 7 blades ( 56mm inducer, 70 mm exducer ) in a 0.60 trust type cover with reverse thread turbine shaft and nut
that turbo pictured is 7 blades in a 0.60 trust type cover,, looks to me like a knighty or other equiv
PS
not sure if 60-1 is 7 blades,,, but remains a possibility
,, and also if the cover is removed and the exducer measured to be 75mm and not 70 mm then its a t04 E front
measuring the inducer and exducer on the compressor wheel will nail down exactly which wheel it is
Thanks for the detail info :) at least i know mine is not the stock then.
Will do more measure today
What\'s on that label on the compressor housing.
Inlet looks to large to be a stocker... :mmmm
Here is a stock (note the hard pipe for the boost port):

Your turbo might be a T04 maybe? can you see if all the injectors have red tops or if they are different colours in case the fueling has been tweeked as well
I did some measurement today and a few pictures
the inducer of the compressor wheel is approx 55.7mm +- 2mm
No label on the compressor but there are some numbers on the turbine.
Also the backing plate of the compressor wheel is red if that means anything?
anyway photos:

I think it\'s saying N5S 04W

Does the stock has this Y piece? logically the pipe to the right goes to the boost controller, but wouldn\'t that means the spring tension on the actuator is controlling the boost now rather than the boos controller?
Cheers :)
Louis
Oh i have checked the injectors, all stock denso 550cc but im putting bosch 880cc into my secondary, the fuel pump is receiving 13V even at idling and that indicates it might got a aftermarket fuel pump? will give that a check soon as well tho.
That Y Pipe arrangement on the compressor is stock - the output from the compressor is fed to the wastegate, and the stock boost solenoid near the oil neck is used to bleed off some of the boost - effectively meanng the turbo has to work a little harder to make the wastegate operate - hence upping the standard 5.5 psi to about 8.5.
On your pictures of the turbo, under that pipework that comes out of the compressor is what looks like a rectangular label - not sure if there is actually a label there ?
That actuator looks stock, but is on a non stock bracket - so you may well have a hybrid turbo there ;)
some updates on this topic.
as bumpstart stated it looks almost the same as the knightsport S320
(http://www.knightsports.co.jp/blog/imgs/RF320.jpg)
capable to do 320hp at the wheels. :)
Louis
awesome news! I\'m not even an FC man and after seeing your first pic was gonna say it looks larger / more blades than a standard tub! good times ;)
What is the fueling like on the engine? It might make 320bhp once on stock fueling before it goes lean and stuff gets expensive!
stuff already got expensive mitch lol, i bought a PFC to learn how to map it myself. and a 880cc, thats all really.
When i first bought the car i thought wow the stock FC turbo is huge! XD
Well the turbo is quite large as stock, but small for a rotary, check the photo that I posted with the 3 turbos, from left to right:
Greddy T88 - 1000bhp piston engine, 600bhp rotary engine
OEM FC3S turbo - Probably 400bhp piston engine, 280-300bhp rotary engine
OEM T25 from a Z32 - Probably 250ish bhp, would run 1 per rotor on a rotary :D
Rotaries need larger turbos due to the extra combustion cycles it has over piston engines per rev, so a large turbo for a piston engine, is a medium sized turbo for a rotary.
I would need a GT45 to max my 13b out lol and a GT60 to max out a 2.6 litre quad rotor :)

This does not mean you have a aftermarket pump its just that someone has obviously done the fuel pump wiring mod to achieve 13v which is quite impressive, that will give you more fuel flow for sure.
The only way to check is to open the lid and see whats attached. With stock injectors then there would have been no need to upgrade. It will still be good enough for the BHP its capable off and especially with 13v even with the 880cc injectors. Thats only FD fueling size wise, although the FD pump apparently is a little bigger.
