Title: Should fuel surge tanks be grounded?
Post by: imebgo on March 05, 2011, 09:50:49 PM
Simple question - this obviously happens bolting to the chassis, just thought I would double check.

Thanks,
James

I\'m assuming you are meaning a swirl pot?

By its nature, as you said, it will be attached to the body work so something that small will be earthed sufficiently.

Just make sure that if you are putting it in the boot, you ensure the fixings are sufficient as in a crash the last thing you want is it to be flying through the car spraying fuel around!  Also, standard braided hose isn\'t safe to run in car without being contained in a firewall as it is porous.

Cheers,

Its all being sealed in another container, should be good on that front.
