Hi, im completely new to rotary but not to mazdas. Ive run an mx5 for a few years and want to upgrade, I just cant decide if I want to go 7 or 8. Im leaning more toward and fd and if I do ill be looking for a tidy rebuilt car for 5-6k.

Im aiming to have a drive of both to see which I prefer, I just cant wait to get out there and try them!

Welcome Mike matey,

As Brett says, you\'ll get loads of usful info on here. Probably find people near to you for a blast out in both.

But I can clear it up right now...

RX8 = naturally aspirated = gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay
RX7 - forced induction = wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin

I trust this clarifies matters.... ;) ;) :D

haha awesome description trotter,

What car you want i suppose depends on your use of it, will it be a daily or wil it be a weekend toy?

Welcome

If you want something fast for weekends then it\'s probably an FD, if you want a fun daily driver then go for the 8.

Thanks for the welcomes guys. Im after a daily driver and I did try an 8 yesterday which I was impressed with. The handling seemed very similar to the mx5 but you could just feel the extra weight on occasions. I cant help but be drawn to the 7 though because ive missed having a turbo since I sold my celica. I dont do that many miles so fuel shouldnt be too big an issue, the cost of a rebuild would be though! Plus I dont want to be classed in the n/a gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay category :chat.

I am undecided between the two at the moment, it a case of head or heart, I get the feeling heart might take over as soon as I test drive a nice 7 though.

Well after testing both the 7 and the 8, im impressed with the 8 but the noise of the 7 and the torque from the turbo means im now looking for a FD :driving

Theres a couple of nice cars available at the moment in my price range but this seems very cheap:

Does anyone have any more info on the car?

Thanks

Knew you\'d see sense lol :rollin

If that car really has got a rebuild from Haywards and mapping from Jaydee (and PROOF of it) then that would seem a crazy cheap price. JayDee is about the best there is, and Carl has been around on the scene forever so between them it ought to be good. Compression test is always essential though.....

Just as a personal observation of taste (or lack of lol) those wheels are just bizarre! Look like some weird sorta \'80s Alpina Bimmer wheel or something
