Title: Radweld ??
Post by: slater1982 on March 01, 2011, 09:33:52 AM
Morning all.
After springing a small leak at the top of my radiator, i\'m wondering if its safe to use radweld in these engines (mine\'s an fd by the way) cos I heard a couple rumours somewhere that its not good to use it in these cars?
Any knowledge would be appreciated, cheers guys. :)

radweld isnt good to use in any car, stay well clear.

Only thing ive ever found to work is K seal

As Chris says, please dont put any radweld type product in the system other than K-Seal which we know is safe as you risk blocking up waterways in the rotor housings

Ok guys thankyou. I guess i\'ll just save pennies and gett the rad reconditioned straight away, probably the safest option eh.

If you are still running a standard radiator then I have a couple of radiators in stock that are second hand

Solution to leak in cooling system = reseal/repair part that\'s leaking. And that doesn\'t include adding a \'band aid\' in my eyes - If there\'s a hole in the rad, replace it. Cooling is vital on these cars, don\'t risk it.
