Ok so after having some bad experiences with an FD3S in the past (not fully understanding them and checking it over fully) I am once again venturing into potential ownership.
The car I\'m interested in is a 1996 Type RS with 29k miles and the following compression figures :
FRONT ROTOR 8.5 / 8.3 / 8.4.
REAR ROTOR 8.6 / 8.5 / 8.3.
Please can you tell me what you make of these figures. They look nice and high but are they close enough to be a good sign of a wise purchase?
It\'s had a rebuild in Japan according to the advert.
They look pretty dam good mate. Pretty even and high which is good. Only question is when were these figures produced and by who?

You can contact him on here
Thanks Rex, yes that\'s one of my cars :chat. These tests were done on Friday afternoon ie 11/02/2011 and it was also serviced at the same time so it has run around 30 yards since the test and service. I took photo\'s at the same time as it\'s always nice to see as i know it\'s quite easy to pull figures out of fresh air. The tester i use is a genuine Mazda compression tester, you can\'t get better than that!
Dave.
they are extremely good figures, anything over 8\'s is very healthy :Thumbsup!
great figures and a stunning FD too.... :mmmm
Looks a nice car and nice figures too.
IMO dont like the spots in the front bumper but thats just me
Easily removed and they are a personal taste thing but personally i like them and like many things look nicer in the flesh. I know when we\'ve had to replace PIA lights on the Evo\'s they\'ve cost an absolute fortune so it could make sense to keep them out safe & sound. Thanks for the nice comments to all of the above :cheers.
Dave.
