Title: OMP Replacement lines
Post by: Ricco_04 on February 13, 2011, 04:03:39 PM
I have read on here before that people have replaced the OMP lines with silicone pipe and small cable ties (although I cant find a specific thread with it on anymore)

I know there to be little to no pressure in the lines so is this ok to do?

I need to order several lengths of pipe so was going to add this to the list if it seems ok to do (ID of OMP lines 3mm?)

Hi Jon

On a fair bit of a budjet you see :(  Hence trying to find out about this way which would be almost pennies - as long as it was reliable ;)

I did find whilst searching that you do the replacment braded ones with the banjo bolts.  I assume the FC and FD ones would be the same lengths?

Out of interest then what would be the delivered price inc vat for all 4 lines?

Yes the lines are the same.

An all in delivered price is £40.80.  This is only for 2 lines though...which are the other 2 you are looking at?

The FC has 4 OMP lines - 2 oil injectors on the rotor chambers, and 2 that sit on the lower inlet manifold on the 2 centre ports

Never go for cable ties, the original use metal crimps and must really be used. If I get chance I can see if I can sort some hose out for you if I have any left and you can make your own. I did and have no issues at all. Its braided hose but you do have to be very careful with your original hose connectors (spacers) as the nipples can break rather easily.
All you need to do is gently heat the hose up to fit on the ends and then use the crimp which can be re-used.

Thanks for getting back to me.  As prof says for the 4 lines :Thumbs-up

So good job I didnt go ahead with the cable ties then!! :Hammer

Pete,  my current ones broke where the crimp was.  If you could sort out something that would be great :Thumbs-up
