Dear Friends,
We (Myself and Di (Feed Chick)) have something to tell you, sorry to do it this way but this is the only way we get to talk to you all without waiting for the shows in the summer.
Di has been fighting spinal cancer for almost 4 years (you may have noticed her struggling occasionally), she has been having various Chemo treatments during this period and an operation. Unfortunately due to the position of the Cancer it cannot be removed completely so we are relying on the Chemo to do the business, it has had some success but over recent months the cancer has continued to grow.
We will find out over the next few weeks whether the latest treatments are taking effect, but failing that it will become terminal.
We do not wish to be treated any differently, I am still the stupid idiot that joke\'s about at the shows and Di is still the chatterbox that will talk to anyone until they are deaf. If it wasn’t for the Cancer we may not have bought one FD let alone two and then we would never have met such a great bunch of people that we have, so it is not all bad! Looking back to Rotorstock 4 where i mooched around looking at all these great cars (i even spotted the one i own now and added it to my \'ones to keep an eye on\' list for future purchase). Who would of thought it would have lead us down this path of having such a great bunch of friends and having fun at shows and meets?
We class you all as great mate’s and would like to thank you all for helping make the last few years such fun (and long may it continue).
Di is the happiest she had ever been and is looking forward to going to OZ, the shows starting again and obviously our wedding in Aug at ROTORSTOCK 8 which we are hoping you will all come and help us celebrate!
A great big thank you to thoses of you that already know and have supported both myself and Di, we really appreciate it.
Sorry again to tell you like this but we wanted you to know and it\'s the only way of informing you all.
Love Gary & Di
P.S Can those of you that know us on Facebook please not mention this as there are still people we need to tell in our own time, thanks!
Hi Di & Gary
Firstly, we are so sorry to hear your news, our thoughts are with you.
Well you certainly have lots planned this year with a trip to OZ and of course your wedding at Rotorstock 8 :Thumbs-up
Hang in there gal! :)
Luv Lisa & Clive
Sorry for the news... but OZ, never been and i even have family there tut tut... that will be a great trip!
a wedding at RS8... are we all invited :3gears-lh:Party
Hi Gary and Di,
Even though I don\'t know you in person, but read your feature in Banzai (two ....ing cool cars by the way, and Di\'s is a big inspiration to me for my FD), I really want to wish you both the best.
Having recently lost my uncle and a close friend by, and my other uncle fighting the big C, I know how hard things are.
I hope Di has the willpower to fight back and overcome the disease, and Gary the best of luck. Most people don\'t realize, but having a partner with cancer is very hard on the mind too.
So both of you: the very best of luck!!!
Greetings from The Netherlands
Kenji
Sorry to here this mate, its always hard to tell people and deal with this so your a brave brave man.
Our prayers are with you and Di.
Hi Gary and Di, I personally don\'t know both of you, however, I deduce from
your writing skills that you guys are very genuine and kind people. I don\'t know whether you believe in God or not, however; I believe in God and further believe that, if you seek from God to help you-offcourse he will. Amen
it\'s not a great news but-hay who knows, who goes before who? Di your cancer might b dangerous but then fate of all of us is unknown, therefore try to keep yourself happy and do go to OZ! I m convinced that you have such a lovable person arround you- that is Gary, So don\'t worry nothing is going to happen to you.. Just do what is right in your life and seek from that supernatural entity, I m sure he will shower his kindness upon you. I know how u would b feeling Gary, as 4 days ago I lost my cousin aged 35. He left 28 years old wife, 2 years old daughter and 2 months old son behind. It was really heartfelt as he died of cancer as well.
I give my cousin a credit thou, he fought cancer for 4 years!! 1 year ago doctors said he won\'t survive a month but he survived a whole year..this tells everyone that doctors r not always right...
Hence, I believe that you would b fine Di and whenever I will perfome my prayers I will always pray for you.
May God gives all health and Happiness. Ameen
Syed
My thoughts are with you both.
I do hope you get good news from the doctors. The human body is an extraordinary thing and with help can overcome serious adversity.
All the best for the future.
I\'m so very sorry to hear this. I tell u what though....I bet u 2 spend more time actually living ur lives together than the rest of us put together! :) Di\'s obvioulsy made of pretty tough stuff and that\'s half the battle fought before u even begin. :yes Wishing u both the good news u deserve. x
Fingers crossed for the future for both of you, all the best
my thoughts and prayers are with you both.
GOD BLESS
thats rubbish best of luck to you both hope things sort themselves out
Thanks to all for your comments, nice to know we have such support!
Cheers Guys and Gals
Now i know this will appear to be moving quite quickly for some of you guys (but for us it has been going on for almost 4 years now). Di went back for more Chemo and results from a scan yesterday, it shows that the cancer has now spread to her bowel (which is terminal) however the current Chemo treatment is agressive and we are hopeful it will kick ass.
The way the treatments work means we are always a month behind with the scans, so we will find out next month if things are looking better. The docs are suggesting they give it a good old pasting for another couple of treatments and see how stubborn the little C really is!
Arrrrrrrggggggggggg,:Grrr
Lets all pray that your next post is a step forward,
Wishing you both all the very best, Clive n Lisa
Many Thanks to you all for the lovely flowers, you have made Di\'s day!

:InLove :Thumbs-up
My best wishes to Di, yourself and all your friends and family.
I hope never to have to walk in your shoes, I don\'t think I could be as strong.
Been a while since we were last on here and overdue an update:-
Di went back for another treatment last week and results from the month before\'s scan. The cancer is still growing, however the consultant is still hopeful that it will be different with another couple of treatments, so Di will be going back again in April for some more Chemo/Ketamin (and what ever else they decide to give her, this month it was some injections into her hips!(http://www.fduk.org/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif))
So are fingers are still crossed for another month or too!
Thanks again to you all for your support!(http://www.fduk.org/forum/images/icons/icon14.gif)
