Hello all,
Due to the relocation of my work office I\'m having to sell my reliable FD for something more suited to sitting in traffic for extended periods of time :driving

I have listed a brief specification of the car below:


Mechanicals
Stock twin turbos. It never misses second boost!
HKS twin air filters.
HKS SSQV BOV
Full stainless steel mandrel bent exhaust with twin 4” rear exit
Knightsports high flow CAT â€" emissions are no problem here.

Gearbox and Diff fluid replaced late last year
Brake pipes greased

Rats-nest replaced with silicone hoses at Hayward Rotary

Genuine Mazdaspeed GTC front bumper â€" plastic lenses removed and sidelight surround smoothed and re-sprayed (see pictures)
Genuine Mazdaspeed GTC sideskirts
Mazdaspeed style boot spoiler.
RE-Amemiya style Rear diffuser (recently removed but can refit prior to sale)
BK Racing alloys (BK555 Model â€" lightweight and good quality) 18x8.5 front with 245/40/18 Kumho SPT sports and 18x9.5 rear with 265/35/18 Kumho SPT sport tyres

As with many imports I have no actual paperwork from the rebuild but I have compression test receipts from just after it was brought into the country showing +8.0 all round. The last time I took it to Carl at Hayward he compression tested it with strong 7\'s. I\'ll try and find this receipt and scan it in.

All standard items on the car are working fine including remote central locking (with automatic ‘anti-hijack’ locking on starting the car), electric windows, electric mirrors, air-conditioning and power-steering.

The car is running on standard twin sequential turbos and both boost perfectly fine. They have been well maintained, as has the entire car, and the engine has not undergone any extra strain from excessive modifications.

Engine starts first time every time from hot or cold.

I can confirm that there is NO black smoke (over fuelling), no blue smoke (worn turbo/oil seals) and no white smoke/steam (work or blown Apex seals) at all. The car does not miss-fire, does not sound like a tractor (worrying sign that it could be worn/blown) and has clearly not had a hard life.

As you will see by the pictures, the engine is tidy with no signs of any leaks or evidence that it has been tampered with in any way. It runs great.

When driving the car around, it pulls cleanly in every gear, with no flat spots, hesitation or loss of power.

The clutch and gearbox are strong and it changes gear absolutely fine.

I am reluctant to sell but the car must go so it has been priced accordingly. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding the car or to arrange a viewing. Please no time wasters; this is a great car and is very well priced regarding the spec, condition and reliability.

I have printouts from previous services and work undergone at Hayward Rotary showing compression figures and I will try and find them and get copies scanned in for you over the weekend as well as a few interior shots.
In the mean time please let me know if I have missed anything out or if you have any other questions.

TAX has expired. Just checked the MOT and that expires in... 6 days! Obviously with the interest of test-drives etc. I\'ll get them both renewed and updated (unless anyone wants to take it away on a truck??).

Proof of the engine\'s compression would definitely help you sell it quickly.  Also, I might have missed it, but I couldn\'t see the mileage listed anywhere?  Finally, any idea what sort of power she is making?

oh man - on closer inspection the belt i fitted on at the ~RWYB day about a week after i bought it is still there.

this car must be 8 yaers since its last rebuild if thats still the same engine when i sold it to the current owner. (he even copied my original advert and changed it a bi :p)

didnt i tell you all this is the worlds most reliable rotor years ago! look its still going! haha awesome.

Stunning. Is there no info on the rebuild at all? How many miles have you covered on this engine?

I got to ask - where did you get the rx8 illuminated gear knob and how much was it?

The RX8 illuminated gear knob comes straight from the RX8 I believe, as when people are selling "an RX8 gear knob" the question of whether it\'s illuminated or not is a very common one, so I\'m guessing some models had it as standard?

RX8 Illuminated gearknobs are dealer fit accessories and are an easy fit but they\'re harder to come by since most of the ones on ebay are people who\'ve fitted illuminated ones and are getting ride of their stock one.

i bought the rx8 gearnob from the dealer when i used to own the car. its for the 192 model as an optional extra. it was pretty bloody expensive actually.

Bit of an old thread this one but to update I eventually decided to keep the Rx7 and just bought a cheap car for work. It was harder to part with than I thought!

I\'ve moved house now though and storing the car temporarily at my parents\' house so it really must go. I really mean it this time!!

Just wanted to bump this thread to see interest levels. I\'ll update with newer photos and any relevant info at the weekend. Let me know if any questions come to mind and I\'ll try my best to answer.

Updated Price and recent compression test?

Bump on price and recent compression test

Apologies for "going dark" - I\'ve actually completely moved into the new house now so the car is sat off the road at my parents\' house.
I\'ve not had a chance to get a compression test done as haven\'t had much time around the car. My dad has assured me he has been making the neighbours aware it still runs by turning it over regularly :)
In the interest of getting this gone I\'d be asking for around £3,500. If you want to take a look at the car it\'s in Berkshire so let me know and we can try and arrange a viewing - no commitment to buy, obviously. The car has no tax so unfortunately no test drives :(
