Title: IS this normal, direction of roll bar link thingies?
Post by: scooby_si on June 04, 2004, 05:52:07 PM
as per following pix the passenger side seems to hit the steering thingy (ahhh can you tell i\'ve been studying the parts terms init )
Anyway the passenger link itself is a bit bent & will be getting replaced but the actual pin holding it seems to point a lot lower down & hit the steering arm thing whereas the drivers side clears it easily. Is this normal or is something else likely to be bent or such like?
Cheers

would this be because the wheels (OK less the wheels) are pointing slightly to the left?(http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0304/fragend/confused-smiley-013.gif)

Hi Scoob,
don\'t really know much about this, but could it be because the suspension is fully extended as the weight of the vehicle is not compressing the springs?

I see you fitted the strength bar - I\'ll probably need one of these as the handling feels a little "loose" compared to before my.... ahem....incident. Did you have much trouble fitting it?

i would definately get it checked out mate i had no problem fitting it wotso ever although that\'s mainly kuz chap doing all my bodywork did it (http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0304/lachen/laughing-smiley-006.gif) i believe the normal roll bar holders are a bit fragile to say the least & the bodywork fella reckoned mine was probably a bit fooked before the incident & may even of contributed.....but who knows for sure(http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0304/fragend/confused-smiley-017.gif). As per attachged pikky before strength bar attached it certainly looked a bit rusty etc to say the least....

I\'m getting it resprayed at the mo, but when I get it back I\'ll check the mounts - cheers.

Just looking at the photo again, where\'s the roll bar on the passenger side? Would this not lift up the lower wishbone/entire hub unit? It defi looks lower than the drivers side.

erm in the earlier pix it wasn\'t attached to the passenger side which i think is wot yer saying. Anyway turns out the nice strength bar & a link sorted it out now wheels point in correct direction i believe will post sum pix later, just a bit gutted ATM as bumper isn\'t going on as easily as hoped.... but wheels looks lush (http://smilies.jeeptalk.org/otn/love/luxlove.gif)
