Thanks Lisa....not the Croydon car I thought then.....wooden spoon for me. Doohh.
Looks nice, I guess the C739 CKL reg in the 1st pic is what it was originally registered as. Sounds like the RXI plate is included with the car?
Can\'t understand, why there has not been more posts on here, think this car is getting lost on the "How many 1st Gen" thread.
Yes, possibly so, it\'s certainly been discussed on there in the last day or so.
Definitely looks the part in the limited photographs. Sounds good providence with lowish miles. If it is as good as they say, I would agree with comments on \'tuther\' thread, if you take into consideration the cost of buying a cheaper version that requires substantial restoration work and re-sprays, it would make sense to spend this type of money for a good solid example. Also this particular model would have the benefit of limited owners and possibly not having been welded - surely this has to be a bonus for any vehicle.
I think the major downfall for this vehicle (as expressed by other members) is in it\'s colour - for some reason the majority of people seem to extremely dislike this shade of green! For this reason alone it would reduce the amount of potential purchasers and limit the chances of a sale close to the asking price. At the end of the day, it all boils down to what somebody is prepared to fork out on the day.
Me? - I like it!
:mmmm
Has anyone contacted the owner regarding interest in buying this 1st Gen? :2Confused
Unfortunately not for me - I already have a brace of FB S2\'s and 1 FC so I\'ve nowhere to keep it.
Would it not be better to post it on the open forum?
Most paid up members that want one...already have one ;)
The logic behind the thread being in members only section is to provide the opportunity for full club members to purchase prior to being offered to the open forum - I for one support this and see it as a valid perk of membership.
Yes, I concur that most paid up members that want one may already have one but there is always the instance such as just happened with the fife fb, a member may not actually be looking for one but if the circumstances are right, they may just choose to do so on a whim perhaps.
Also other members with fb cars may also fancy their chances for another - had it not have been for my current circumstances, I can assure you that I would have bought and paid for the fife fb before the present club member had had the opportunity to approach the po with his winning offer. So keep them coming to the full members section first !!

I must admit i was not looking for an FB, i have an FD in the garage, but thankfully as it was posted in the members section, i did have the chance to buy it.

Very glad you did too Clarky, this also justifies my reasoning. :cheers
I\'m not arguing the point of placing the car in the members section.
However, if, after a while, there is no interest, maybe putting it on the open forum might generate a sale?

RPM made an offer when this was first posted, but not for as much as he\'s asking......
Does anyone know if this vehicle is still for sale. Wife has said yes to 1st gen so I\'m looking for a good one.
Try contacting Keith on the number in the first post as do not know if this has sold or not.

thanks guys will let you know how I get on.
Still for sale
Hello Lisa, how much did you end up selling this for, if you dont mind me asking?
Hello all,
Does anyone know if this car sold?
Thanks,
Dean
Best thing is to call Keith - phone number in the first post of this thread....
He brought it along to Brooklands Spring Rotor show earlier this year and it did look well cared for.
Mr Townsend has asked me to relist his 1st Gen. All details as per the first post, however now offered for sale at just £1,250.00 ono, half price the original offer price.
Milegae now 90K
Got to be a bargin for someone out there :Thumbs-up
The owner of this immaculate 1st Gen has been in touch to advise that this car must go, preferably to a an enthusiast.
He is now looking or around £750.00 ono. Mr Townsend lives in the Croydon Surrey area and if anyone is genuinely interested in buying this car or knows anyone who might be interested but is not on the forum, please contact him direct on 0208 654 2083
The only 2 small things are that the front brakes may needing changing and the exhaust is a bit smelly so may need a new exhaust but otherwise an immaculate car for its age inside and out.:Thumbs-up
I\'m surprised Steve Garbutt isn\'t all over this at this price or even Carl. If I had a bit more cash I would get it:( just a few hundred short:(
Oh Wow! Wish I had a) spare £750 (++?) and b) Clean, dry garage to store it :(
(and c) Some way of hiding it from the Mrs ;) )
Wow, £2,500 to £750, that\'s some reduction in the asking price. I think that\'s a very fair price now. I hope it goes to someone in the "community" instead of disappearing, never to be seen again.
Oh crap! 750£ for Fb... They cost around +4000€ here... :/
Has anyone been to see this car? I spoke with the owner and he says 5 or 6 people have seen it... im in glasgow so travelling is a bit of a nightmare!! Otherwise I\'ll have to make the trip :p
Cheers
RIch
Hi Rich
This is a bargain price for this first gen and the condition it is in for the age.
Keith has owned it for over 20 years, but it has to go, hence the reduction in price.
Hope this really goes to an genuine enthusiast.

Can you not come over to the UK and buy it? Even with shipping it will still be a bargin compared to what you might pay in Finland.
Yes, it would be a bargin... :/ I wonder how much shipping would cost...?

Hi,
Lisa, when you contact the seller I will buy it, may collect this tuesday.
Regards,
Kees
Hi Kees
Do you want me to contact Keith and tell him you will be over on Tuesday
30th April to collect?
Hi Lisa,
That will be fine. I also need some mazdarotary parts as well.
Hi Kees
I have spoken with Keith and he has advised that Rich is coming down from Scotland to possibly buy the car.
If not he is going to let me know and we will update you on Sunday.
So over 12 months on and its now £750
FB rx7s are obviously not as valuable as everyone thinks. With such a reduction in price I would have thought it would have been snapped up before the ink on the pound notes had dried.
absolute Bargain
looks like i will be splitting mine then!
I fear given the current economic climate there is just no money out there.
The reason for the price drop is that the car just has to go. He has 2 other cars and the 1st Gen is no longer used by the owner, hence the sale and reduction in price.
A bargin if either Rich or Kees buys it.
This 1st Gen has finally been sold today to Rich from Glasgow.
Good luck with the car. look forward to seeing the pics on the forum.
Damn how come I never spotted this.
If anything happens with the sale let me know I will have it.

Hi lisa
Thanks for the good luck, and thanks for the tip of the car being great condition! Despite no photos I took a risk on the car and it definitely paid off! Im over the moon with my new purchase.
After an overnight stay at a friends, and a 400 mile trip ( the biggest trip for the car in 10 years) im successfully home incident free :)
Next job is getting photos up and a mini write up.... hope the 1st get guys are as friendly as the 2nd gen guys :)
Rich
Cool welcome to first gen ownership ;)
Congrats on the purchase. I look forward to hearing more about the car :)
Yes please, and pics would be great. Has it still got it\'s RXI reg?
