Title: Steering rack bolt
Post by: ACCR on January 31, 2011, 08:13:08 AM
Hi,

Does somebody know what kind of wrench do I need to loosen this bolt?

It has 12 tooths with outer diameter of 22mm.

Thanks!

The problem in spline bit socket is that the largest size iz M18 and the diameter of this one is 18mm not 22mm. I can\'t find the 22mm size... does somebody know where to get it?

Thanks!

ah right got you. Could try a 22mm hex bit socket, not ideal but should do the job. Just means there will be less contact points on the bolt head, if you do, keep a close eye that it doesn\'t start to round the corners if its hard to undo.

you want to measure the line in the pic if you haven\'t already, if thats 22mm you could use a 22mm nut and bolt welded together if you cant get a hold of hex bar. Then you can use a normal socket on it.
