opinions please, going to fuel injection on my standard 12a and was wondering what the thoughts were on a setup along these lines ...
the throttle bodies (these ones are from a GSXR 600)
and the manifold ...
ECU will be a Megasquirt DIY type unit, as above will be running bike throttles of some sort in a sidedraft config.
this is almost exactly the type of setup planned
now thats my kind of conversion. I cant see any reason it wont work, Suzuki GSXrs are one of the most tunable bikes in the world. Should make it easy to get it sorted once its all fitted. I did it the other way round, I turbo charged my Yamaha street fighter using Rover turbo parts . 180bhp at the back wheel was great until it threw me off last year.
I would be interested to see how you get on with this. I have an elford turbo engine ready to go in my Lotus 7 kit car and i\'d like to get rid of the SU. I put a turbo II engine and gearbox in my 1st gen, which is easy power, but i like look of what your going to do.
we have high hopes that it will work well, I can\'t see why it won\'t seeing as you can bolt a pair of DCOE\'s on the side of a rotary and get it to run, this should work as well if not better.
theres an interesting thread here http://www.msefi.com/viewtopic.php?t=867

some pics of a guru motorsport improved prod\' engine from Aus ...

There\'s some thing \'honest\' and beautiful about n/a setups like that :)
Hi Mike,
If you check this thread there is a link in it (you may have already seen it?) - thread is a good read.
http://ausrotary.dntinternet.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=36800
Thanks Glen, lots of good info on that thread ... and some very open and honest advice from a lot of tuners in OZ .... been sifting through it slowly but surely and theres too much to take in all at once
Cheers,
Mike
picked up a set of brand new GSXR throttle bodies the other week so I\'d thought i\'d post up a piccy and bring this thread back round again for anymore comments from the experts ;)
also to be seen in the background a 54mm socket ... i wonder what thats for ;)
We\'re also just sorting out a deal on a 12a twm sidedraft manifold so its starting to take shape a little.
a little off topic but this arrived the other day too :) A weichers 6 point bolt in cage with diagonal and door bars. (for the 323 rally car)
It feels like its been an ice age waiting for it to arrive. ~ Only took them 3 months to take it out of stores and ship it ... and Germans are meant to be efficient ! It does fit the car really nicely though. Going to be busy 30 odd days till the cars first event  :)
This should be on its way soon :)
Hi Mike,
I had a look at a 13b TWM manifold the other day,it is very well made.
The 12a one should be very good too.
Looking forward to it.
Kind regards
Carl
Bill said yu were impressed, I think this one may not be ported for a euro 12a though.
Well after a mad rush to finish the rally car for an event I have some spare time to work on this again + my manifold arrived.
As eventually happens with most things I own I started by taking the TB\'s to pieces to work out what could be removed and how easy its going to be to respace them. I also removed the traction control throttles as I don\'t think we will be using them at this point in time.
onto the photos ... stripped down TB\'s after reassembly (note the lack of fuel rail + holes left by secondary throttle shaft (got to block that up somehow)
Manifold and TB\'s in comparison, note the centre spacing on the TB\'s which is 80mm and the manifold which is 90mm, I will have to extend the linkages between each TB and fit a 10mm spacer to the cast lugs to make them fit the manifold (which is for twin 45\'s)
Linkages that will require respacing, I think I will just get a "tag" of metal welded on to sort this out.
Another view of the linkages
The injectors, I am going to need to find a fuel rail to suit the new spacing. As Bill pointed out this should be the same as any other DCOE TB so I may be able to use one off the shelf.
Is the interface on these injectors a standard fitting ? or am I going to be making my own fuel rail out of that universal section you can buy ?
Cheers ~ Mike
oh an the culprit behind loosing all spare time for a month or so ;)

The standard Suzuki method of fitting the TB\'s to the head might come in usuefull too (look at the flange pattern!) It\'d be a miracle if they bolt up to DCOE flange but I\'m sure somthing can be sorted if not :)
hey, wow, awesome way to inject your 12a. I used to own a 13b manifold for twin down draft 40mm webers but injection is soooo much easier to control and make do what you want.
are you an engineer by any chance?:D
Draughtsman at the moment but only really by job title (and wage:rolleyes: :reallymad )
I can\'t take credit for the idea as its Bill Shurvinton that led me astray :D I\'m quite enjoying the project now, currently looking at lathes so I can make some parts (mmmmmmmm new toy = :D )
Good thread Mike, I like what you are doing:cool Keep us up to date as you progress.
Regards,
Paul:)
to answer my own question , yes the injectors are a standard fitting (well standard to Keihin) after a quick measurement and google I have found the relevent drawings on Keihins own website. (only relevent for the fuel rail hole size)
Can\'t find any part numbers on the GSXR injectors to find out the impedance and other usefull numbers though
I think they are KN4 type injectors going on the drawings ?
(added Keihin link to the usefull links post)
Hi there, I didnt realise the Megasquirt was capable of running a Rotary. But then I know nothing! LOL
Thought you may enjoy this video tho..... although you\'ve probably seen it!
Scoots rotary on 4 TBs
http://www.valvers.com/downloads/videos/4re.mpeg
Megasquirt does fuel for rotaries very nicely. I still need to do some code mods for spark
Will have to order a MS unit from you soon Bill ... if only to get a clearer idea of whats going to involved in fitting it.
Have been trying to source a 10,8mm reamer today for fuel rail holes
Pretty sure I have a 10.8mm drill somewhere.
Have you located some suitable fuel rails?
not got hold of any yet but found plenty of suppliers.
let me know what yo decide as I may be ordering some from the USA soon.
Bill
let me know if you need any fuel rail. I have a few styles of extrusion or can make them. email me. Keith@KGParts.com
hi guys just wondering something about fuel rails. Cant you just make your own to suit your individual application? my old 13bturbo used to run a weber style downdraft throttle body and it had a U shaped fuel rail supplying 4 injectors. Point is, I saw the engine builder bend up and braze the fittings onto the bent tube to make this.
I am not that clued up on this type of thing and fair enough he was a back yard mechanic but he built some very fast cars.
cheers,michael.
I think I\'m using a fuel rail off one of my spare 323 Gti heads, it has a 90mm(ish) spacing which is the same as the DCOE manifold + the Denso injectors used on the 323 have the same O ring size as the Keihin ones used on the Suzuki, won\'t be as bling as an alluminium one but its free and ready made.
I will probably swap it for somthing a little tidier once the car is running. I\'ve found some 10mm long M6 threaded spacers (think they are used in computer servers), I\'m not sure if they will work yet but I\'m going to try them out before resorting to making my own spacers.
Another point to note is that the BP engine in my 323 is very similar to an mx5/miata BP engine so I would guess that a fuel rail to suit an MX5 would fit a twin DCOE spaced manifold too. (it\'d be cheaper and more interesting to make my own though)
~ Mike
P.S will post a photo of the "new" fuel rail in mo
fuel rail, will need to make some brackets as unfortunately the Mazda BP engine has the injectors in the head so the brackets are on the wrong side to mount on the throttle body directly
Where all this stuff is going to live (dimensions are only rough)
Great work Mike,
I am keeping track of this as it is developing so please keep it up.
You are going to love it when it is all done!
Kind regards
Carl
I drove my car today and it made me smile ... god knows what it will be like when its actually a little quicker + a lot noisier.
Can\'t wait :D whats the plan with the exhaust ?

Perfectly acceptable way of doing it IF you are good at welding. Take a look at a fuel rail of a cavalier sometime for an example of this method of construction.
The real secret with EFI conversions on a budget, or at least max bang for the buck stuff is knowing what you can use out the scrappies.
ohhh I\'ve blown the budget now and bought somthing specifically made for my car :o
a surge tank from Tweakit in Aus 90 Aussy dollars
Traitor :)
heh, heh, heh, welcome to the dark side. As an australian living in the uk i find it hard not to cruise the ausrotary forum to see what bargains i acn pick up with the british pound being so strong.
Although I must say that whenever i can i find it good to encourage and buy from local suppliers.
I try to buy locally if i can but its hard when no one makes the parts you would like and for the cost of some bits its hardly worth the hassle getting them made.
a little progress, I have respaced my throttle bodies to suit the fuel rail (90mm centres) but have found that the manifold is actually spaced 90-94-90 (ish) which is slightly annoying as it means all 4 TB\'s will be 2mm offset one way or another.
piccy below
I also scored some ZX9R Intake rubbers on Ebay for £10. I\'m not sure if I\'m going to use them yet as they are very slightly undersize for the TB\'s. The bolt pattern is nearly the same as a DCOE manifold but the orientation is wrong. I am thinking about making some adapter plates but to be honest it wouldn\'t be any more hassle to sort out some plates with tubes welded to them. (anyone got any ideas where I can get them made ?)
Not sure what to do with the spacing either, I\'m tempted to dump the 323 rail and go with a custom one and space them to suit the manifold, it would solve the mounting bracket problems too.
piccy
think i have given up on the M/C inlet rubbers, they are never going to fit as well as if I have my own made.
The current plan is to have some machined up out of alloy and use a fuel resistant loktite adhesive to bond/seal the the throttle bodies to the adapter. Well thats the current plan :D ( what do you mean I\'m indecisive !)
Got a few prelim drawings out for quote at the moment (see attachment)
If you want I have a set of 4 flanges like that I had made up.
yep I\'m interested :) , what size are they sized for ? the above ones are very slightly smaller than they need to be for the 750 TB\'s to allow for some fettling once they are bolted together.
Got a quote back from the local engineering place, £32,75 each if I get 4 done or £21,74 each for 12 off
I might try a few other places to see if that competitive or not, anyone got any suggestions where to try (going to have a check round some more local places tommorow)
What size/style are the ones you had done Bill ? at this rate I may as well call it quits and chuck £80 into the buy a lathe fund :) and make them myself.
Sorry haven\'t had a chance to reply to you.
Mine are DCOE flange like your drawin. Need a little fettling, but £10 for 4.
Sold :) don\'t mind doing some modding.
Flanges have arrived, now planning some mods to them and trying to select an adehsive that will work.
Thinking about using this ... http://65.213.72.112/tds5/docs/HYSA9460-EN.PDF
Its stable in contact with petrol and various other fluids (tbh the area in contact with small amounts of fuel will be miniscule anyway) it\'s plenty strong enough for the job but i will check the stresses first. The only thing it is marginal on is the temp at 100 degree\'s. I\'m not sure what temps I will be seeing at the the TB flange so I\'m a little dubious :)
have now aquired some JB weld so I\'ll see how good it is ... the Americans seem to use it for everything !
Specs look good and its cheap, alegedly good for 300DegreesC!
just a quick message to bring this back from the depths and to say its not dead :) just moving slowly (as with most things I do :D ) hopefully things should pick up a little in the new year ;)
still got to find a fuel pump and currently debating about the fuel rail as I don\'t think my scrap parts freebie will work due to the spacing of the manifold.
I have been considering making my own but I\'m not sure if I confident enough about machining the threads for the fittings on each end ... somthing along these lines.
some more parts aquired, found some 1 7/8" 10 Gauge alloy pipe for welding to the flanges as stub pipes.
Hey Mike good work here:)
Just thought you\'d like to see my set up for the four banger in my 1000., using GPZ1100 bodies. Like yours its a long term project
(http://hometown.aol.co.uk/jmazdaman/images/gpz1.jpg)
Spacing was very nearly spot on. Theres a very slight bend through the mounting plate on numbers 2 and 3 to get them lined up with the ports.
The intakes are long as they have to clear an integral thermostat housing that goes next to the distributor. The rubber joiners are 616 top hose:eek:
These are first gen TB\'s where the injectors were fitted as part of the airbox, but since this pic I\'ve got some second gen ones which have integral injectors and fuel rail. Easy
I\'ll probably end up getting it all welded up and fitted , and then take it all off as I dont want to spend the money on a ECU and rolling road time.
Tight a$%e - who said that??:rollin
Good luck with it mate
Rich;)
excellent, have you seen the megasquirt ECU info ? they are cheap as ECU\'s go but just depends on your budget :)
//www.msefi.com
right progress has been made
Fuel rail is on order from Aus (being made to suit)
I have a set of 48mm trumpets but they don\'t fit quite right so they are going back and some 50mm ones are on order with the fuel rail.
Flanges are going to the machine shop tommorow for some work
I have some 1 7/8" 10 Gauge Aluminium tubing which is a near perfect match to the GSXR T/B\'s
Fuel pressure reg is also here, a nice compact unit from Shy Auto ... thanks Clive and Co.
Heat shield material is also on order from Rally Design (1/6th the cost of Demon-Tweeks!) I\'m going to use the aluminised cloth edged with aluminium tape and pop riveted to a home made alluminium heat shield ... would use stainless as aluminium is a very good conductor of heat but its a pig to work with and I have aluminium \'in stock\'
Just need to work out what size it is once the flanges are back and I can mock it all up with the air filter.
Fuel pump is on its way ... an ebay special and total overkill for what I need - Bosch 0580 254 910
Also sorting out a vacuum fitting for the manifold, whatever its tapped is nearly the same major diameter as an M10 bolt but the pitch is finer. Looking through Machinerys Handbook therefor leads me to believe its a 1/8th BSP tapping .... about 75p from the local hydraulic place :)
Got to sort a fuel filter now, thinking about using a Mazda one as I can buy all my service bits from the same place still. A turbo II or third gen uses a pretty generic design so I\'ll hit up the parts dept. and see whats cheap :D
Got to redrill my airfilter back plate too.
No piccies yet as my camera is on charge (pretty boring stuff anyway) hopefully some more interesting updates next week !
Nice one Mike, look forward to the final progress reports when it is up and running.
p.s. you have pm.
Thanks Michael ... my PM notifications have been hit and miss lately.
This is the latest toy for the Last Minute Rallying workshop (well it looks similar) It would have been helpfull in this project but its not in the garage and running yet.
Oooooh Mike, that is the mutz nutz! Bet the team will be happy with that one!
we sure are pleased :) its a fair size too which means its a lot cheaper than the smaller bench sized ones.
Hopefully in the next year or so we can find a mill too.
*edit* dropped the flanges and pipe off at a mates workshop for machining ... top bloke, he\'s retired and building himself a half scale traction engine from scratch
*edit*
Locked thread for a bit so I can post piccies. Normal service will be resumed shortly :D
The flanges have now been machined, got them done by a mate as a favour and he did a top job. Some eagle eyed people may spot that the tubes aren\'t quite round (10thou out !) I\'m planning on skimming them after welding.
Piccy 1

Flanges for ram pipes, got some 50mm Dia x 50mm ones arriving from Aus soon
Flipped over to show counter bore
All together ... need to work on the spacing
GSXR - DCOE conversion flange

another view ... looking a little more complete but lots still to do !

Looking good mike:cool, think you\'ll have it done for the rolling road day on the 5th March?:bandit ;)
Kepp us upto date like I know you will:D
Cheers,
Paul
March might be a bit soon ;) I am planning to have the throttle bodies sorted and ready to go on by the end of the month (sh1t 10 days time !) then its off to Carl for an exhaust and then fitting it all to the car.
the major bits that could stop that at the moment are the bits coming from Aus and getting this stuff welded ... not somthing I can sort so its a yella pages job
minor progress - found a vacuum fitting. End up using a 1/8th BSP Taper fitting in the 1/8th BSP parralel tapping so it seals without an o ring. Not bad for £2.50 :) hate to think what the same costs in bling bling aeroquip.
Also got the lathe in place and running, its in need of a good clean but we\'ve already cut metal on it and everything seems to work fine. Its a little worn but good enough for what we want. (and I still ache from moving the heavy b\'stard on saturday!)
Hopefully going to have a word tommorow about getting the ally bits welded. (fingers crossed)
piccy of the fitting (yawn :D )
been making the heat shield tonight ... its a new high tech material but we can\'t work out why the prototypes keep catching fire :D
Seriously the insulating mat should be here tommorow and then I can start cutting the ally sheet and folding it. Hopefully it\'ll fit once its on the engine but sods law says it won\'t :) oh well it can be modified if needs be.
fuel pump arrived today ... along with a load of other post I\'d been waiting ages for
bling bling  and its all out of site under the car !
Adapters/flanges are being TIG welded today, picking them up tommorow I hope.
Been working in the warm on the insulation for the heat shield tonight. just need to cut the ally sheet and bend it suit now. Waiting till I get the flanges back to do that.
Also got some O ring gaskets for the manifold.
does anyone know what will happen to silicone hose when exposed to fuel vapour ? I\'m thinking not a lot but the hose companies are covering their asses. I have some 48mm ID samco stuff that I\'m thinking of using. The ends of the TB and tube will be butted up so its not going to see much fuel and its not exactly under a great pressure.
Flanges and tubes are now welded :)
Will hopefully post some more progress pics tonight
edit - Damn they are difficult to photograph !
bugger :(
got the holes drilled out for the mounting bolts no problems. Then decided to bore out the inner diameter to remove the step where the flange is welded on .... bad idea !
I had a few practice cuts on the lathe with some spare tubing and once I thought I had mastered the technique of getting a good finish I had a go with one of the adapters. Eeeek not a nice finish at all its all picked up and rutted :( then I managed to blow most of the fuses and burn out some of the cable to the motor while going for a higer rpm cut :(
hopefully I can get the guy who machined the flanges to have a go at sorting my mistakes ... oh well, I hope tommorow gets better !
Hey mike sorry to hear of your lathe problems. Alwasy takes time to figure out the quirks of a new(second hand) machine. Hope you gets it all sorted soon.
thanks Mike, it certainly does take some getting used to
bit happier today, re-wired the lathe (just needed a plug) and swapped the carbide tip tool for a HSS boring bar which is more inline with the rpm the lathe can run at. (1500fpm surface speed for aly with a carbide tip! thats 2000rpm !) After some practice and some honing of the tip with an oil stone all went quite well and I even managed to clean up the cuts from yesterday and got a nice finish which I have now run some emery cloth through to take the polish off the surface.
a happy bunny today ... just 3 more to do ! at least I\'m learning :)
Got the other three sorted today. They look really rough in the photos but are in fact very smooth with a cross hatch pattern from running some emery cloth through by hand.
The lathe (still not had chance to clean it up)
the work bench :rollin
what you can\'t see is the contents of 2 CVH engines spread over the proper work bench being rebuilt for a couple of weeks time.
Now Mike, I am starting to get more than a little bit of workshop envy!:D
I was half way through a weld tonight in my emeregency workshop(i.e. my bottom room of my flat!) and the electricity cut out. Apparently a telegraph pole self combusted. Hot metal, no lights and having to find the gas bottle without tripping up over the half chassis i was working on.
And I dont got no lathe:(
other than that , the electricity came back on about half hour ago.
So when will the beast be running?
I\'m envious too :) its a mates garage, not mine. 5mx5m square with a 25 foot ceiling ! (its an old chapel)
we had the same problem today, power was out for 3 hours + it surged when it came back on and killed my mates TV and DVD player :( electricity companies are no use either as three different companies supply the lines the power and somthing else they just blame each other constantly and nothing gets done. My mate is constantly left in the dark.
back on topic ...got the heatshield finished today and tapped all the ram pipe flanges ready to be bonded to the throttle bodies. think I have figured out a throttle cable fitting too, just need to measure up the rx7 cable to see what diamter it needs drilling out.
crikey its been a while since I did anything on this.
I\'ll try and get an update soon. Last thing I managed to get done was fitting the ram pipes and fuel rail but then I got tied up with a rally and other stuff. I also managed to make a backplate for my airfilter which doesn\'t fit over the ram pipes (should\'ve checked that one before cutting and filing all that sheet metal !) so it looks like I\'ll be running them with filter socks to start with.
Hopefully I can get the throttle bodies finished off this week as I\'m off work (famous last words .... just wait for the \'disaster report\' !)
~ Mike
I *Think* they are pretty much complete now. now I have to work out if it\'ll all fit in the engine bay as is  quite a task when you consider the amount of cr@p on that side of the engine at the moment. I may have to strip it all off the car early to do a test fit. Trouble is that will leave me with an imobile car in a garage with no power .... hmmm got some thinking to do !
number 2
number 3
number 4
SWEET!
wow Mike, they look great!:D Cant wait to see them on the car and find out what difference they will make. Such alot of work too. You must be well chuffed. Almost look too good to put on the car:rollin
i\'m pretty happy with them ... not as well turned out as the bought ones and a few rough edges but they should work.
now I just hope they fit ! I\'m worried about the clearance with the brake servo. I measured up and the length is less than the measurement I took but that was a long time ago and I can\'t recall how close the brake servo and stuff is.
damn Mazda for putting the inlet and exhaust on the Right :D
Where\'d u get the ram pipes from Mike? what size are they? 50 x ? are they efihardware or summut?
50x50 and were from injection perfection in Aus
Thanks Mike, figured it was IP or EFI-H.
do I get a prize for slowest progress and most missed deadlines on a project yet :)
bit hectic at the moment as my folks are having the garden/garage rearanged. I did however find my spare throttle cable in the old garage and its just about a perfect fit for the gsxr linkage ... which is nice.
Got to try and get over to the rx tonight and see if all this is going to fit ! fingers crossed it does.
Mike
Call this slow? I\'ve got a thirty year old Harley project in the garage. It\'s the project that\'s 30 - the bike is from 1928. You need to calm down and stop rushing into things IMO! Either way its still one of the best stories I\'ve read on here!
Rgds
Andrew
I have some more photos for an update now. My camera batteries are dead and I can\'t scrounge a card reader at work so it\'ll be a while before they are up.
Good news is I think they clear the brake servo ... bad news is I won\'t know if they clear the steering box and everything else till they are actually fitted ... its a bit tight for space on a rhd car.
A slight bonus was my battery wasn\'t flat after not being used for 5 months ! ... theres somthing to be said about old cars with little or no electronics !
finally got some time to post these up (been a busy week with rallying and whatnot)
first off a picture of them sat in the engine bay with the flange lined up but just sat on top of the std. carb
and a quick picture to show the space available, the main obstacle looks to be the steering box which looks like it might intefere with the underside of the throttle bodies. It will be hard to tell until I can take all the standard stuff off and fit it for real.
Nice thread Mike!
Love the way it\'s going to look in your engine compartment :D
Oliver
any new progess on this project?
Yes, the car is at Hayward rotary for an exhaust and an ECU to get it up and running.
an update from deepest darkest Newbury :)
The standard intake and emmissions stuff is all off the engine and there isn\'t quite enough space to run the T/B\'s in a side draught configuration so they are being mounted \'downdraught style\'
This should allow room for a decent airfilter too.
Thanks to Mr.Hayward for the hard work ;)
Hiiya Mike, forgive me from digging up and old thread but I reckon that there are amore than a few people kinda wondering what was going on with this conversion at the moment???? Finished or still under development.
cheers and happy new year buddy.
michael.
still a work in progress. Thats why i\'m off down to see Carl. The exhaust is done and the T/B\'s are on the engine ... but thats as much as I know.
It\'d be nice to have it back for Brooklands (Carl ? ;) )
A bump to the top for the new owner of the manifold :) ... yep its not going on my rx7. Will probably be using an IDA manifold instead.
Hmm, I wonder where it will end up. he, he, he...
after all that work? wow ...
well, good luck with the IDA setup. that\'s what i plan to use on my car.
I enjoyed it LoL ... it may be used somewhere else. They will fit just about any 45 DCOE manifold.
well I got it back last week and it drives really nicely, very responsive and a lot different from when it was on the Nikki and it does about 25% more to the gallon than before ... It is also a "little" bit louder :rollin.

revised spec as of last weekend was
Microtech LTX8 ECU
4 direct fire bosch coils
2xGSXR600 Throttle bodies
2x500cc injectors
SS- exhaust all straight through with a single presilencer
Bosch Motorsport 040 fuel pump under the bonnet
Standard fuel pump as lift pump
Swirl pot under bonnet.
Will it make it to RS4 Mike? Its been so long since I last saw this car running! :D
hope so, thats the plan.
Don\'t forget I will be in Germany as of the 5th as well :) so it really is cutting it fine.
Stop your excuses and get it done! :spank :rollin
It\'d be well on it\'s way to going back in if I hadn\'t been on my hols for a week in the Isle of Man for the manx rally.
Stock engine going in, or slightly warmed over?

You not see the 4 pot lying on the ground.......seems to be a 323 motor !!!!!!!! Most probs a full rally spec motor as well :Laugh
Oooh! Snail powered 1.6?
its a bit bigger than a 1.6 :)
Cool :D
Wonder if the 2.5V6 would lend itself to a RWD conversion?
it certainly does, there isn\'t a bolt on option though. (although I think some of the 929\'s had a v6 and were rwd ... they look like a square shape Cosmo)
Got any pics? Or a link? (Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay off topic I know)
ah not found the one I wanted but they did a new cosmo shape one too. Now what I want now is the gearbox off one of these ... I bet they are all auto though.

That is cool! How come we don\'t get anything that cool over here? :D
it\'d make a nice daily drifter but a bit heavy on fuel I bet
well bit of an update on this one. I got a 33Kg parcel from a little known company called mazdatrix the other day :)
The old engine was in a bad state when it was pulled to bits so it\'s now got brand new housings, carbon seals and I\'ve had the side plates lightened by having a load of metal cut out of them ;) It should be going back in the car over the x-mas hols along with a new light steel flywheel, uprated clutch and all new clutch hydraulics.
I will also have a good tidy up in the engine bay and clean everything before it\'s all back together.
