Title: Forests
Post by: jetpilot on January 27, 2011, 09:27:01 AM
A gov bill will be released today aiming to sell large parts of our forests for development.

We are gripped in the smokescreen of global warming, taxed accordingly and raped at every opportunity to persuade us to be green........and now they are looking at selling our one biggest defence at rising temperatures, trees!

Its good to know we are taken for idiots............:Grrr

I don\'t think they are being sold for development on.....are they?

They are looking to make them in to public attraction sites.  So mountain bikers might have to pay to ride through certain sections....they are planning to erect restaurants for walkers etc, and will probably charge for parking.

They are also looking to feature conservation projects as part of the tourist attractions.  The sculpture trail in the Forest of Dean is a great example how the forest can be kept in great condition, attract walkers thus reducing the waist line of the ever expanding British citizen and still turn a slight profit.

Maybe being a media whore but this makes for a good read

Whatever way its cut, unless the forest stays as forest it hardly fits in with the "green" ethos which they try and palm us of with concerning other things, fuel duty for one!
