Are they living on the same planet!!!!!!!!!

Just had my renewal through on my daily driver, a Mitsubishi Delica.

Up from £320 to £533!!!!!!! A 65% increase.

No claims or convictions in that time, you can imagine what i have just told them! :2Mad

There was even more fraud and accidents last year, so premuims accross the board have gone up, plus over the last few years new insurance coompanies have been operating policies at a loss to bring premuim in, this year there is going to be a massive correction. I get this info as I work in the IT department of an insurance company. Plus some companies are trying to shed certain types of schemes and they way they do it is by massively increasing the renewal premuim so the customer goes elsewhere.

Understood, a realist i am and although i appreciate another years claim and conviction free driving is going to incur an increase (although i thought the whole point of claim free sould mean a saving), 65% is laughable, after all an old daily driver probably isnt high on theft or recent spate of accidents involving said make. I personally would have thought a low risk vehicle with a low risk driver is where you want your business to be?

Theres an idea to get cars off the road linked in with emissions and petrol usage. Price the high risk monkeys off the road!
