Title: Fast Idle
Post by: P44CKO on January 13, 2011, 01:56:10 AM
Guys,

Sorry to keep posting, but ive only just got my 1992 FD3S and trying to sort out all the problems!

Basically, the car tends to idle at approx 1250rpm 99% of the time. The only way to get it to drop to a more normal level 900-1000rpm is to very gently blip the throttle a couple of times. Anyone got any ideas of what it could be ?

Thanks again to everyone whos helped me so far, great pool of knowledge on this site, and without it i would be well and truely FDUKED! :god

Ha haa iv done my fair share of question asking too man. When i had a high idle on my car it was cause I had a air leak around the throttle body. Go over all the parts of the engine, especially round the UIM and look for a vacume pipe off or an open nipple. Smallest thing done it for me.

Dont be alarmed its just the AWS Accelarated Warm up system i believe for emissions when cold.
