Title: FC gearbox sensor?
Post by: bobbyrx7 on January 12, 2011, 03:02:38 PM
I have just removed the gear box on my fc to replace the clutch and snapped two wires that look like they go into a sensor. it wasnt mentioned in the haynes manual i was working from so didnt realise it was there. its round with two wires going into the top of it and is located just behind the clutch arm on top of the gearbox. Anyone know what it is?

cheers

one coming out the side is the Neutral switch, the one out of the back with 4 wires is the Fifth/Reverse switch.

The Neutral switch is used by the ECU during deceleration fuel cut to work out whether to cut one or both rotors - if it\'s not wired in you can get some bucking / backfiring and bad fuel economy - it\'s a simple switch so you should be able to join the wires back up unless they\'ve snapped out of the back of the switch itself.
