Went to have my service today. Went well, everything seems to be in order which is great stuff. Clutch and break fluid needed changing the most, it had gone a nasty black *eww*
Anyway running well now. So to the boost problem..
as many of you know i\'ve had boost issues for some time now. Didn\'t think it was the cat because the flipping heat light never came on.. didn\'t occur to me the sensor maybe melted

So I COULD put another cat on...I don\'t think I will though. Over summer I was gonna get a power fc and a decat anyway...so I think i\'m gonna go with that.
Question though... will a decat be ok with a power fc base map?
...also what bits do I need for the decat.. is it a cat replacement pipe or downpipe or both? *shrug* :confused:

oh, glad you found the prob btw! and if you havent sent the cd could you stick your vids clips on it for us, im having a mare trying to download them (combination of dial up and AOL)! got half of three of them!

the base map on my power FC was running sufficiently rich when Pip plugged in the thingybob after ditching the cat just to quell my paranoia that it wouldn\'t be running lean although i am going to pay him a visit for a remap as soon as i\'m back up & running

Andy.. I know JPS do one for £125 I think he said.. let\'s see if we can get cheaper. I want mine by the end of next week as I gotta get it all done asap really... dunno if it\'s worth phoning up the usual bunch to get prices :)

i\'d still be tempted to at least get sum1 to check yer running OK & well remap pays for itself in petrol as i understand it so sumin as i say i\'ll be doing sharpish anyhow.....

When you\'ve got PFC on where dya reckon you\'ll get it mapped?
Just wondering cos i\'ll be wanting a map tweek after de-cat is on(and ive also been after a power run) and anywhere that knows what there doing is miles away, was thinking we could do something like the CPL day where Geff came up and done a batch of FD\'s

yeah will do Si, JPS said they\'ll be able to do it soon so thats cool.. he\'ll be able to check it over before he lets me drive off :)
Andy as above mate. JPS is only 30 miles ish from me. Said it\'d be about 40 mins work to fit everything which is cool (assuming they didn\'t have any probs!)
Rather just spend bout £40 than gassing million miles away to have it done :(

bout 80-90 miles so not too far, not as far as chesire for my last mapping session!
Not sure when i\'ll be able to make it tho as car in bodyshop next week, might just buy the pipe and get it done later date

WGT do a nice de-cat which appears to be silenced (i.e. it isn\'t just a bit of pipe). Carl also does a silenced pipe I think.
WGT\'s is £195 and, while it\'s a bit louder than the cat I used to have, it\'s pretty good. At idle it\'s no louder, at 7k rpm its a raucous shout but not deafening (the porting adds to the noise a bit) - not that much louder than before.
