So another manager bites the dust!
I have no great interest in Liverpool FC but is this recent trend really helping the game. I dont think it will be long before Ancelloti gets his marching orders!
It looks to me like these clubs are now being completely run by the owners, is that right? Does a manager really only have a few months to prove themselves! Much as i despise Utd, they have had the same manager for 1000\'s of years and are the most successful, surely that says a lot.
I know these billionares want success for their investment, but surely if they bought a business on its knees it wouldnt take like 2 seconds to turn it round, which is what they seem to expect from managers.
Maybe we should employ this tactic with our governments! Wouldnt see them doing year long fiscous studies into ridiculous subjects when the answer was obvious from day one!
I feel a bit sorry for Roy. He seems a decent honest bloke and the management setup, himself included was only part of the problem at Liverpool. Sadly, this is one of the main things that he\'ll be remembered for now.
He found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time and whoever steps in to do the job isn\'t going to provide instant success.
The only positve I can see is that with Hicks and Gillette out of the way, the club have a chance to rebuild, whether with NESV or someone else.
The days of managers having the time to build a team and patient owners like Sir Alex had in the early days at Man U have long gone.
It\'ll be interesting to see how much time Fergies successor is given if he doesn\'t hit the ground running.
Not really a surprise sadly. I think Hodgson is an excellent manager, as is testified to by how much Fulham over-achieved under him and errrr....how much they really haven\'t this year. He inherited a poisoned challice, sadly...a poor squad, meddling owners and players who seem to think that just because they\'re Liverpool they somehow are entitled to win games no matter how badly/disinterestedly they play. I think Hodgson\'s been let down badly at every turn, and has every right to feel hard done by.
The way the game is nowadays is ridiculous, managers should be given a chnace, especially ones with proven track records such as Hodgson. They don\'t just become a bad manager overnight, its the players that let them down. Who knows what will happen when they\'re given time, after all, Fergusson was not far from the sack back when Man Utd were dismal and look at their career together since....
I agree Nik. Hodgeson is a good manager and it is a shame he hasn\'t really had time to set the team up as he would have liked too. He had my vote to finnish the season at least. Oh well its done now and King Kenny is back in the driving seat. Hopefully he can focus the players for tomorrow and give Man U a game.
Ade (confused Liverpool fan!)

well said nik, i completely agree.
other than gerrard, do the others give a f**k?....i dont they did under poor old roy.
I think the owners have taken the get out claus to get some one in thats not a mid table (unproven at the top) Manager, they want some one that can control high paid players and get the best from them. There is also the issue of the owners being in for the "Long Haul" as its put, they dont strike me as people that buy stop gap players to fill holes rather buy quality players that fit well in a squad, if you look at it like that Roy simply doesn\'t have the pull to atract the big names.
All said and done i do feel for Roy as he\'s been used to bridge a gap but on the other hand Roy must have thought with liverpool being for sale there was a good chance he would be at the helm when some one came allong with an unlimited budget and told him to build a team but thats not how it played out.

I do agree with this, United fans always forget the agro they had with Fergson at the begining and how fortunate they where to give him that last chance. They owe him everything.
Roy was only brought in to stabilise a sinking ship, Rafa left Liverpool high and dry and once he realised that there were no funds and a poor squad he quickly jumped ship.
As a Evertonian you might think i enjoy the fiasco at Anfield but in truth its sad that a huge club like Liverpool have been left trying to compete with midtable teams rather than challenging at the top. I think for the next 2-3 seasons they will require large funding and a full squad replacement before they can think of anything other than 8-12th spot in the league.
Dalglish has only been brought in to silence the fans annoyance, the fact of the matter is that the Liverpool squad is poorer than it ever has been, Torres is making noises about leaving and that would then provide the team with nothing other than a relegation battle.
Yep, I feel really sorry for Roy, definately a case of wrong place at the wrong time. Hope he finds another club soon - should be plenty more vacancies around soon I reckon, almost seems like a manager a day at the moment; Ferguson, Keane, Hodgson, etc!

I notice King Kenny saying in the news today, there is no quick fix solution.....Covering his back there me thinks!

thats exactly what roy said when he took the job swell :rollin
Got to feel sorry for Kenny. That was never a penalty. No problem with sending Gerrard off though, the ref had no choice with both his feet off the ground, lunging with studs up. Spoilt what could have been a great FA cup tie though.
I thought it was a good game!
Usual Man U cheating though, who was Fergie calling a cheat recently......hypocrite!!
Apparently its not called diving now, its called "simulated"
:) Don\'t care what it\'s called, just one form of cheating that spoils the game. Not a good example to set to the youngsters of today who see these overpaid prima-donnas as role models (God forbid!)
It wasn\'t a bad match as things go, but would\'ve been better without the pen and sending off IMHO
Well at least Liverpool actually played some football today. Not a bad performance compared to recently. I hope we play like that a bit more now and then at least we should start getting some results. Was a bit stupid of Gerrard to get himself sent off and it did mess the game up. But even with 10 men I thought they played alright. Shame the ref is a Man U fan though.
I didnt think it was a sending off.....both gerrard and carrick went for the ball at an angle, gerrard never "went" for carrick.
yes he went in with two feet, but it wasnt a tackle "through" carrick, he blocked him.
It deffo wasnt a penalty either.
Howard Webb just loves giving Man Utd the big decisions.
It would have been waved play on a few years back but that was then and this is now. It don\'t fly in modern football cause they are mostly big girls IMHO.
Webb is a self confessed Man U fan he shouldn\'t be alowd to ref their games. Simple.
I doubt there is one ref in the country that doesnt have a preference to one club or another!
As said in the commentary, the line assistant wasnt flagging or the goal line official.
Get with the times football, that decision could have been made in seconds by a man watching the game off field with access to the cameras, just like cricket. You would think the refs would welcome it, at the very least no manager could be whinging or moaning at them!
Ryan Babel has been in trouble for tweeting this today!

Quality!
I woudnt be a ref for any money, i kind of admire them for what they do! It cant be an easy job, lets imagine you were the ref at a Man U game when the king of dives, Ronaldo was about! You would know he has a reputation for diving, so what you going to do if he goes over! I cant see in a any foul like Sundays one that you can be 100%!
I watched a game recently, cant remember which one and all the commentators were talking about all the grasping/holding/pulling of shirts in the penalty area and saying it shouldnt happen, as if you abide by the law they are penalties! Their view was quite simple, if refs started to give penalties no matter "the amount of shirt grabbing etc" the players would stop doing it, personally i would welcome it. Some of the defenders these days are terrible at it, hands all over the opposition, but they get away with it so keep doing it.
Liverpool v\'s Wolves wasn\'t it? I agree with them too.
Liverpool 1-3 Everton ??????
Ha Ha. You never know with a derby game Gurj anything could happen. I mean you never know Liverpool might even win shock horror!

Now now dont be silly :Nono!
All depends how you get on with Blackpool, should you lose or draw there will be more pressure on you guys for the Derby match :Thumbs-up
I actually think it will be Liverpool 1-1 Everton as its all set up for a draw i reckon :King
Well neither team has really achived anywhere near what they set out for this season. And your missing your top goal scorer too. I bet there is an own goal at some point in the game.
