Title: Anyone using Aquamist?
Post by: Daz Nuke on January 03, 2011, 01:59:57 PM
As I have just gone single turbo (Borg Warner S300) I was wondering if it was a good idea to get some kind of AI system thrown in. I have got a Koyo Rad and a Greddy Intercooler already for cooling.
However I was just wondering if anyone here has found using AI beneficial to their set up, I am currently looking at around 400 RWHP.
They seem to have a real hard on for AI on the US RX7 forums so I am looking to gauge a few opinions from people over here who might have used this.

My cars running about 420 atf and i have the HSF 5 system. I must say for street use like mine and in the 2 years its been fitted i have never had the need to turn it on. Total waste of money for a well sorted street car.

Thanks for the info DavyV, my car is for street use as well. However I do have a couple of places on my drive to work and back that can get busy and thus I can sometimes sit in traffic for a little while (Damned A27). I guess my biggest hate is the stop - start nature of queuing plus if it is a hot day. I guess paranoia about heat is just a natural state of mind with these cars :)

all depends how much boost you want to run, w/i allows you to run more boost than typically avaliable just on pump fuel.

if you can give me the exact model of the s300 i can tell you what power your expecting to get at what boost, from that i can work out if w/i is useful for you

Water Injection is :3gears-lh

Go to my web page to read about it, you will see lots of people copy my system over on that forum you mentioned, been using WI for many years and it is the only way to make the rotary reliable and durable at very high power.

I have a good thread of it on Aquamists own forum under the projects page too.

Water Injection will bring only benefits to your engine like a reduction in all these: knock/air intake temperature/carbon buildup/hot spots in combustion chamber etc etc

Thanks for all the replies:

turbotoaster - the car is currently at RE:Worx so I will have to ask Geff which S300 it is, will let you know.

RICERACING - I had a quick look at your web page and it looks impressive, however as I am a complete newb to A.I. I will have to do a bit of studying I think :)

Mad^94Rx7 - Thanks also for the information. Looks like I have some reading to do...

All in all I think I shall do some research first, as to what it is that I may (or may not) need. If more people have some experience of using A.I. please feel free to chime in.

Many thanks.
